Personal carbon footprint ... how do i count the ways ... ?

The more i look - the more ways i see are available to cut down on my personal carbon footprint ...

... so far, here are a few things done by me personally - but i only recommend anyone doing
what they are personally ready for - because it is a continual challenge ...

-- Sold personal vehicle
-- it has been 15 months that i've owned no vehicle eliminated my personal output of high carbon emmissions
there are other adjustments that could've been made such as the use of HHO… Continue

... the Pickens Plan Opponents Take Ownership

Hi.
You may have read one of my postings already titled, "...the Crisis of Controversy." If not, it may be a good idea to read that first to get a little background on this posting.

Why do I support Mr. Pickens and his "plan." What are my personal reasons? To give you a little personal background I am a former Senior Executive Business Analyst for an 82 year old company out of Chicago. (No its not the mob.) Also, I have a MBA degree from the worlds largest private University.

With that said, I… Continue

... the Crisis of Controversy

One friend wrote, "Brent - T. Boones plan does not have any “distributed energy” associated with it so is therefore limited in it’s effectiveness, and timeliness as well as security. These new transmission lines have to be DC ( less loss in transmission) but still vunerable to breakdowns and such. We need more local sources."

The question to me now is, "How does Pickens address this situation?" First, Pickens clearly states on his videos that transmission will originate in the midwestern windfa… Continue

... the CRISIS of CONTROVERSY

The Internet Green Guide.com, owned by Brent Teague, received responses from people sharing about the pitfalls with "PickensPlan." Most people are unconcerned whether T. Boone Pickens becomes profitable from developing the "best" energy plan for our future, as they are capitalists themselves and believe in making a buck, but there is some of that and it will be addressed toward the end of this article. The majority of concern is the strength of Pickens' plan and whether he has taken adequate tim… Continue

Invitation to join the NW Renewable Energy Group
I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

Hello, These new rooftop mount wind turbine kits that I am building are great. The profile is pretty sleek and attractive. The system is actually a home appliance and doesn't really stand out much more than an antennae, chimney, or satellite dish. This makes a nice clean way for homeowners to get into the clean energy movement. The systems are inexpensive, easy to install and scaleable.

These systems have wind/solar built right in. The wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, we designed a system that is attractively priced, that gives an even flow of energy year round. Wind power scales down in size to be perfectly feasible for a homeowner sized system to provide power for their home.

I have used them to save money on electricity costs and that's what I do for others. Most systems pay for themselves in 7 to 10 years and they last for 25 or 30 before needing a rebuild.

Hey BRENT

Fantastic comments. I have chosen to not spend any time on the naysayers. I work with the public and long ago realized there is a % among us that you can never please, that get great pleasure from being negative and fill their self worth buckets through delicious muckraking, trying to prove how smart they are.... and never get anything accomplished.

Turn away and run, toward the solution. THE NUMBERS OF SUPPORT! - building those numbers needs to be our priority. Waste not one more breath of air on those who will never work for a solution. They are bleeding you of valuable energy.

You are right, THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION.

I started, with a group of fantastic members, the welcome wagon. We give actionable items to new members as soon as they join, when they are most likely and willing to do something.
There are terrific people that join every day. This is the place to sow seeds and spread the message.

We have also started the "100CLUB" for folks that send in 100 or more signed pledges. Imagine if we can get 10,000 ( a small percentage of our members) to participate, we get our first million JUST LIKE THAT!

Please participate. Please join the 100 CLUB. Please help us build a voice so loud, the naysayers and gleeful hole pokers will be a very distant memory, a postscript to the change in tide of the paradigm thought on energy in this country!

PLEASE JOIN US. ARE YOU IN?

Best to you always
Kim

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES -
This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! We are blessed that the creators of this site have given us the ability, with little effort, to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

You CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

FOR MORE INFORMATION
Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action!
Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting": http://www.pickensplan.com/news/2008/08/04/video-of-the-topeka-town-hall

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch. I do updates on new member numbers and perinent info.

Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS
Craig Savage Sr.
