I just found out that although "interested and investigating..." Boeing is not on the same page with Valcent and others yet, producing oil, diesel, gasoline and jet fuel from Algae Biomass. They are using a rudimentary system for testing the reactions required with Algae to yeild other carbon-composite materials and oils. In other words, despite having huge funds and a brain-trust, they are WAY BEHIND.
International Energy Co. Ltd. and moreso, Sapphire Energy seem to be headed in the same direction. However, just today, Valcent signed a lucrative agreement with a large Australian firm 'Hydroganics' ($2.5 million USD plus stock options for over 2 years) to purchase, distribute and paritally own rights to the Vertigro Bioreactor technology for hydroponic vegetable and fruit growing applicatoins.
This is the same essential "bio-reactor" that make Valcent's oil or whatever purpose, automotive fuel or other industry applications.
This gives Valcent another horizontal move out into the market first, while furthering their fuel-from-biomass reasearch. Funding changes hands in a couple of weeks. I'd like to hear where Sapphire Energy is on this, but despite what looks to be a larger brain trust recruited and now employed there, they are offering far less info to the public at this time, and there is no public stock offering yet, so its easier to believe, they are still in the pure research stages, and despite greater in-house brain depth, they are behind Valcent to date.
Dear Brent, thanks for your help in finding Sapphire Energy. My top strength is strategic marketing and sales, and I'm very scientifically and technically oriented, hence my own green company at www.docsetc.com. I liked what I saw of Sapphire Energy, and I have contacted them for more info.
Their recruitment and staff/directors list is quite impressive as is their descriptions of what they do/will do.
I'm little concerned though, they are putting up much less substantive content than Valcent Products is. I want to make sure its not hype over reality. Valcent, for a less scientific staff that has come up with their breakthroughs, offers a lot more of publicized design and proofs info, than does Saaphire right now.
I'll keep an eye on Sapphire, perhaps they'll be more consistent in communications than Valcent is.
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must drastically improve efficiency .
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT
That is my field as well - I love Marketing and PR.
I have a small company I work - and contract for business groups for specialty projects also.
Its a bit tight here in West Texas for such professionals as us - the ecconmy is holding on... and actually the Wind Industry is helping keep us in tact. ( there is a story on weather.com / forecast earth - wildcatting the wind ) that is very good on what the wind industry has done for west Texas... if your interested.
I have some friends in the Dallas area who say work is good, and a relative in Houston - that place seems to be booming too.
I think the Wind Industry is going to open doors for jobs across the board in the next few years in our region. They are very supportive of local non-profits and education efforts. They hire locally and have helped so many families with income and benifits. If I hear of anything - worthwhile - I'll send it your way!
That is my daughter walking down the turbine in the start of the commerical - she works for TSTC / Sweetwater - which owns their own Wind Turbine - it supplies over 50% of the power to their campus. If you want to see how "Wind Energy" can turn a town around . . . just click on weather.com / forecast earth - wildcatting the wind. It will tell the story of how the ecconomy changed for Sweetwater, Tx after wind energy arrived.
I hope this will develop for you too. North Dakota should be in play in the wind belt. Watch that story - it will inspire you.
