Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am attending school for Entertainment Business. One of the projects I have in mind is a "Green Picnic." I want to provide an all day music event based on green alternatives. Have booths for local business who do "green restoration" of homes, or companies which sell solar panels and other electric alternatives. I want to make it an educational and musical event. I don't feel the people of Ft. Myers, FL are well enough aware that we will be underwater if the global temperature rises another .5 C
What excites you about this campaign?
Everything. The one man we should be listening to at this time it T. Boone. An oil man turns alternative and has the means to make his ideas heard.
What do you want to do to help?
What is there for me to do. My job has been outsourced to India so I have alot of time on my hands. Have any jobs openings?

SuperMEGA Idea!

Ok, so how many springs are on a single trampoline? A lot, right?

So let's say I'm a club owner, or I'm throwing a concert/show of some kind. Why not have each trampoline spring replaced by a spring combined with an electric generator. So you have one trampoline on each side of the stage. You have 2 people on each trampoline and generate power for the lighting or the sound amplification. They could be in a little fenced off area and security could swap out the people every few… Continue

Unemployment

Yes, I did it. I had to apply for unemployment benefits because my job and my entire department was outsourced to India. Anyone know of any "virtual" work I can do? Single father, background in computers. Needs job.

Please visit www.FAREnergy.org - The Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy would like to make Florida a leader in solar energy. Since 1991, Germany, Spain, Denmark, and over 40 other nations, states, and provinces, have pioneered legislation that have proven to promote the fastest, cheapest, and widest growth of renewable energy. In many of these countries these policies are called "Feed-In Tariffs" (FITs). Producers of renewable energy are paid a premium rate or "tariff" for each kilowatt of energy they "feed into" the grid. Here in North America FITs are being called, "Renewable Energy Payments" (REPs). The name has changed but the fundamental principles of these policies stay the same: Everyone who produces renewable energy is guaranteed that they can connect to the power grid and sell their energy to their utility company. There is no limit to the amount of renewable energy that can be sold to utility companies.
Utility companies sign 15-20 year contracts with all their renewable energy producers. All contracts are transparent and open for inspection.

The contracts include long-term agreed upon prices that the utility companies will pay for the energy they buy. The prices are set high enough to be an incentive to new producers and for existing producers to expand their production capacities. Prices vary according to the source of the energy (i.e, sun, wind, water, bio-mass, etc.) and the size of the energy-producing installation.

The utility companies can recoup their increased costs of paying higher prices for renewable energy by spreading these costs among all their customers.

An Independent Review Board is established by the government that periodically sets the prices and terms for new contracts.

How do REPs work?

Renewable Energy Payments are the mechanisms or instruments at the heart of specific state, provincial or national renewable energy policies. REPs are incentives for homeowners, farmers, businesses, etc., to become producers of renewable energy, or to increase their production of renewable energy. As such, they increase our overall production and use of renewable energy, and decrease our consumption and burning of fossil fuels.

Thank you! Happy Holidays!

You are vastly over-qualified to do a lot of things, but you are very bright and have an inquisitive mind, and you will find something, or they will find you. Still, one area of the resume or CV that you had on your site confuses me...Where did you get your computer skills to get the Sony job, and if they hired you just out of High School, doesn't that have a bearing on those looking to hire you? Never think that High school's curricula are out of consideration for the right jobs...Also, could not find your sail school, was that a joke or is there such a school? Just looking for potential candidates to interview...No job available yet...But potential is there...Gregor Smith gregors@att.net

TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must focus on drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, less expensive than freeways, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. With your engineering and science experience I thought you might want to learn more about ETT

Cool,

If you want to know more, go to Daryl Oster's page. Daryl is in Crystal River Florida. He is the inventor and global patent holder of ETT. Any participation is greatly appreciated in bringing about awareness of ETT.

I look forward to talking with you more about this. This technology has some very powerful implications for us.

Take care,

Tony

Hi Brian……thank you for joining! Education is the key to knowledge, but where do we start? After you familiarize yourself with the information at this website, a wealth of additional information is available. We can look to Europe as our inspirational model for developing sustainable renewable energy. Countries like Denmark, Germany and Spain lead the way in this effort and have been there for the past 10-20 years - even more. Germany’s commitment through cooperatives and local municipalities has installed 19,000+ wind turbines and millions of solar collectors, both for solar hot water and electricity feeding the power grid.

The onshore and offshore installation of wind turbines in Denmark and Germany are producing 20% of all their electrical needs; in Spain, as much as 38% (please see examples in the photos on my page). We are 10 years behind in implementation compared to these countries!

I mention these examples to give us a direction for inspiration and point to where we could be heading with the Pickens Plan. The technology is already there and we do not have to reinvent the wheel. These are a few of the websites I would suggest you visit to see what others around the world have done and are doing:

1) The Solar Village – Freiburg, Germany. See: http://www.thesolarvillage.com/
2) The Folkecenter for Renewable Energy – Denmark.
See: http://www.folkecenter.net/gb/overview/publications/
Under VARIOUS, read: The transition from Fossil Fuels to the Renewable Energies
The whole website is excellent and you could spend hours there.
3) Google: Samso, Denmark. This is an island off the coast of Denmark that is completely self-sustaining. http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_kolbert
4) Read the article written by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. titled: “Global Warming: A Real Solution”

Here are a few great videos to see: “Saved by the Sun” a PBS NOVA video, and “A Crude Awakening” by Basil Gemlpke, et al. Americans need to mobilize and pressure our government representatives both on the state and national level. The Pickens Plan is a good place to foster discussion and share ideas and PUSH this plan! We can all share in this vital common cause. Good luck in your quest for a better more secure America….. Ask your friends to join the “PLAN”. Lee Ewald
