No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have cut back drastically driving my car. I try to walk more to close by stores., I recycle, North Dakota grows a tremendous amount of corn, however we have only one E-85 gas station that sells it in Fargo ,with a population of a quarter million people. We need to get this matter resolved, to transfer and sell more of E-85 with more refineries, pipe lines and gas stations that sell it.
What excites you about this campaign?
I am a disabled veteran receiving a small disability check monthly,I am thrilled by the fact that with lower energy costs, i can spend more of food and other necessities. My doctor tells me to eat healthy foods: however, I can not afford them and have to resort to eating TV dinners and hot dogs.
What do you want to do to help?
i would like to spread the news about this program, however, been disabled it is hard for me to get out and walk or go to meetings as I am in pain 24X7. I would like to spread the word by using my computer, if there is any way I ca do that, let me know.

The Great Depression in the 30's.

I think a great way to jump start the economy, is to have the government start work programs, like they did back in the Great Depression in the 30's. They had what they called CC camps, where citizens built parks, roads, bridges and dams. This ended the depression. Today the government could put people back to work building a country wide system of wind generators. We could start the project right here in North Dakota, the windiest state. Write your US. congressmen and women and our state represe… Continue

North Dakota joins in for more wind power

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota and four of its neighbors are planning for more electricity from wind power.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty says the state is working with Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota on the Upper Midwest Transmission Development Initiative.

The effort will study the costs of developing more wind power and transmitting it along power lines.

The states also plan to propose some form of financing within a year. They will also consider where to locate new wind farms.

North Dakota. The windeist state.

They say that North Dakota is the Sadie Arabia of wind power. With the energy emergency in the world, I believe wind power is one of the best ways to create renewable energy.

North Dakota also has a mass transportation inadequacy. Amtrak does not stop at our state capital Bismarck. Greyhound only stops in Fargo when traveling across all of North Dakota. We all know the high price of air fares flying to our smaller cities.

Here is my idea. Build wind towers along I-94 from Fargo to the Mont

I liked your idea of harnessing the power of a hurricane.. It got me thinking about other ways we could harness energy. Did you know that in a tenth of a second lightning can deliver up to 1 billion volts of electricity. The only problem is having the technology to harness it. Its the worlds Energy in a pure form i seriously think it would be a great way to get more clean energy.

Richard. I am only a few blocks from the train station. If you want to meet when your train comes in you can call me at 478-1395. I can pick you up at the train station and we can go to the restaurant, there is a restaurant right next door to the high rise. Don't worry, I am a smoker also. We can't smoke in the restaurant but you can come up and see the view of Fargo from my apartment and visit and smoke. Send me a comment if that sounds OK to you. Bruce
PS. I have five doctor appointments on the 17Th of October at the Veterans Hospital, will you be coming on the night before that?

Bruce,
I saw your photos and Yes, I rememember the building! Thanks fo adding me as a friend. The trip isn't till mid Oct. When I get there I may rent a car, go to Frazee and get some wild rice before my aunt wakes up. after she goes to bed whold you care to have coffee? My train doesn't leave till 12 something AM! and no. I've got a good book, I won't bore you that long. Just cement our friendship for an hour. I'm nearly as old as you and this trip is going to burn my candles at both ends. I leave Spokane at 12:30AM get into Fargo at 1220AM, find an all night diner to eat and read at, hopefully rent a car, drive to Frazee, bact to Auntie. Don't worry I'll de-smoke myself before we meet as I only smoke when I have a migraine and I'm with her. unless you're a smoker.
Thanks for the friendship!

Thank you for joining Picken's Plan!
Here's how you can help.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. www.pickensplan.com. Ask them to join. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.

So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done.

Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. One person can make a difference.

We added 2,000 new members yesterday. It should be 10 times that. We need your help.

If you know someone in the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write to a Congressman/woman- get them to understand this.
If you know someone who is in the public eye- ask them to support this.
If you can put a downloadable flyer in your business or car window, please do.

Let me know how it goes. It really all boils down to how many folks we can get to JOIN this effort. Please friend me if you like.
Thanks,
Christopher Meister
