Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am an electronic engineering professor at a community college. One of the courses I teach is "Renewable Green Energy Technologies". I am FSEC trained and have installed Solar Hot Water, PV, and swimming pool heating systems.
What excites you about this campaign?
It is both grass-roots and needed. It seems that corporate America is dragging their feet, so it is time for people to act.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to train people so they can reduce their energy consumption and produce their own.

I agree that currently, the costs of designing and installing solar floor tiles is not feasible. Still, with the new revelations of 80-90% efficient solar panels and materials, the design could be used just to run the lights via a flash capacitor system, that stores energy during the day and uses it at night to provide low light illumination to the areas that might be unsafe otherwise, at night.

We have a PV system on our house and it is great. But like you say, the best return on your money is increasing the efficiency of your home.
