Today is the day, for all who believe in their hearts that we can do this, to get 10 signed pledges! Will you print off 10 pledges, get them signed and fax them back? The clock is ticking and it is time for us to ramp it up. Tap into that moment when you first saw this and thought, "WOW, this could really happen", go out of your comfort zone a bit and get it done. We have less than 80 days until inauguration day- to create our own destiny. We have incredible momentum - WILL YOU PLEASE GET 10 over the weekend?!
Will you pass this on to your friends AND participate, please
Thank you and Best,
Kim

Why not start with electric energy from fission?
Burt, thanks for your questions / comments on ETT.
ETT does not car how the electricity is generated. As far as nuke power, i am not against it, except that in the US it is not done in a cost effective manner -- three times the per Watt cost of wind or coal power, and costly fuel too -- so it requires more than half the cost to be subsidized to compete. Pebble bed reactors have some potential to reduce the costs to competitive levels. While the waste issue is presently managed, it will be around for hundreds of generations to have to deal with. I support any un-subsidized means of clean electrical power generation -- let the market decide.
Click here to visit the et3 website -- i suggest that if you have technical interest that you start with the patent document open in one window, and the images in another.
I agree that the earth is a great heat sink in summer, and a great heat source in winter -- the key is to put long life plastic water pipes in every trench during home construction -- this cuts cost in half.
Welcome Burt and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan.
YOU CAN HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.
PLEASE DOWLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.
In addition to the PLEDGE, we now also have a RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON on the main page, top right. Fill out the standard form and the letter is sent to YOUR Governor and Washington Representatives! Easy breezy. Perfect timing considering the energy bill is coming up. We must beat back the lobbyists!
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your city or state, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch. I do updates on new member numbers and help with the pledge petition drive.
Burt,
Tell me about "ground source energy" do you refer to geothermal? With your engineering and science experience I thought you might want to visit my page.
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must focus on drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, a fourth the cost of freeways (yet over 10 times the capacity), and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page or the ETT group, and learn more about ETT.
