No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I've driven through the wind mill miles in west Texas, know lots about alternative energy sources, and moderate a "Green" social group for Toyota's HEYA project.

UPDATE! I will be part of a wind energy event sponsored by Toyota. I will be designing a wind turbine here in San Francisco, though my design will be exhibited in NYC for an event. Stay tuned! The point of the whole ordeal is just to raise awareness of renewable energy, specifically wind.
What excites you about this campaign?
That is presents the material in such a way that even a stubborn jackass can appreciate. ;-)
What do you want to do to help?
I'm not sure.

Agreed. I've always been a strong supporter of renewable resources like water (elec. from dams), solar and wind. These days, I am the "Green" group moderator on Toyota's HEYA project.

I think the main reason change isn't happening more swiftly is because I think people still believe that a lot of these other forms of energy are still extraordinarily expensive. The other day here in SF, I saw a flier for solar panels for a home. Installed, they were only about $9000. With the state and city's subsidies and sale price from the company itself, they are less than an inexpensive car. And they're big enough to power more than a single home's needs, so you can sell any excess power back to the power company. When you leave on vacation, you'll be Making money by selling more excess power back to the company. Crazy, huh? And that's just one example of how it's all coming within fair and reasonable prices. I can't wait to buy my own place so I can install many forms of renewable power collectors. I want solar panels and small wind turbines, assuming I get at least a breeze where I live.

There are many new forms being developed. Have you heard of the wind kite idea? Humongous kits are being put in the air high enough to catch the permanent winds. The constant tugging pulls a lever on the ground that produces electricity. http://www.rense.com/general78/kinet.htm

SF is also investing in tidal wave power generators. I'm not sure which style they're planning, but there are many forms. It's exciting to live in a place that supports renewable energy so much.

Ok, enough fun for now. Talk to you later.

Pickens Plan makes sense doesn't it? The point is that we get the facts so we can make an informed decision in the Presidential race in November. So far the politicians don't "get it". I firmly believe we need to do something about our national dependence on foreign oil and T. Boone Pickens has offered a plan. Hooray! Thanks for joining!
