Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I've had 2 solar panels on my sailboat since 1986. They are one of the few things that haven't broken on the boat. Yes, that's wind power to sail and solar panels for running lights, and charging batteries.
I'm a master clockmaker. I sold and repaired thousands of weight and spring driven clocks. I ride a bicycle and want a natural gas powered car. I want to convert gas engine cars to natural gas powered cars. I want to fill my ngv at my house garage.
What excites you about this campaign?
I want to be part of the solution to our energy problem...not part of the problem. This is something we can do....not just complain about.
What do you want to do to help?
I would like to show and tell others how to convert their vehicles to ngv's. I'm having trouble here in Alabama getting any protocals established. I need help finding out how to convert vehicles. I want to get it done.

There is also a company based in Utah that does conversions. You will have to get it professionally installed from one of their dealers. It's www.cngoutfitters.com.
AND you don't have to have a EPA / CARB certified conversion - it's an after market product.
My brother operates a business in Gulf Shores Alabama named Palmetto Custom Development, L.L.C. 36547-0204 that builds custom homes in a proposed lot. You might venture to Orange Beach someday and you should look for his business.
Energen Corporation which owns Alabama Gas might have a Job Opportunity - Energen Career Center, for you to consider either in Montgomery or Birmingham but keep you eye on Job Opportunity page for maybe something for Mobile Alabama. Energen nor Alabama Gas has stated anything thus far about CNG Vehicles and what they propose to do for consumer's. Course this consumer situation is much larger than CNG Vehicles which is the best option to consider for an Electric Vehicle but there are systems that allow any engine to burn CNG and brings about a 18% increase of efficiency.
My Blog I have considered to introduce My Project: - The Electric Vehicle Free Conversion Foundation (EVFCF). From there you can click the hyperlink and learn more about what I am doing about a crisis which consumer's really shouldn't be experiencing and is my suggestion to evolve a adequate opportunity for each and everyone of them whom is seeking a recourse of action. Tell, me how I might improve upon My Project and expand it greater than which I have and get this foundation working for all consumer's wishing for a solution. Tell me if I am going about writing this so it is not technical for all consumer's to understand what I am telling them how to achieve their goal and be the more wiser to continue their lives at lower overhead than what they have thus far experienced with transportation issues. Give me some sure insight they might enrich their opportunity. I cannot lobby this as that would spoil the outcome so I am limited by how I can approach this. All I am thinking is this project and how effective it can bring about a change rather quickly within reason it has a complete hidden benefit of no cost projected from a Warranty issue per year for each consumer at $500 much less than a consumer would pay otherwise up front for a vehicle which belongs to them so they do not have to purchase a new vehicle at all if they do feel theirs should do just fine. This is the case for the majority of the populous that operate and own vehicles in each state so this foundation manages per state and has the ability to support regional facilities so a smaller populous state is served without a facility or representative. We need support that's plan and simple, consumer's can make the difference in how fuel is consumed if they consider their own vehicle for the project this is the issue and they get what they need to jump start American Infrastructure we can build a Holding Company which is for The National Infrastructure Banking and Finance Bank and that is saying a mouthful. In this capacity investors could earn money each month and this supports the idea that consumer's young or old can participate even those whom depend Social Security. I think we need to endorse the Social Security Laws so this will happen. See my US Census page for all the states.
Hi Capt. Skip,
The kits I have seen, online, come with instructions......A class would be helpful, as well. Good idea, too. We really need to get the pricing down for us average working folk, or retired folk. It is just to d____n expensive right now.
I'm not sure OB or GS would like the idea of residents having CNG refilling stations. If they can't tax it they won't like it. Also they will want private enterprise to build and maintain the station, and not have it come out of the city's coffers. Although anything and I do mean anything that you propose they will want a study done along with it in how it will benefit the area.
My stepdad was first council for OB a few years and there was a lot of ideas that people came up with to the council to relax laws for there own benefit and not the benefit of the public, he always voted against that. He was the one that was against all the taller Condos, but seemed that corruption had gotten a hold of the other members and mayor.
Perhaps more inland areas like Foley, Elberta, or practically anything north of the island might be a little safer for PV. Although your right about Hurricane areas aren't good places for it. But the portable emergency solar generators I think is a great idea. After Ivan, people without generators sure missed their ACs
Hello John, I'm a former Gulf Shores resident and know the area.
I know that both cities of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores usually pull in a relative surplus of cash after tourist season, depending on hurricanes and what not. Have you thought of about proposing a proposition to both city councils to have a solar cells put on municipal buildings to augment power consumption for the city. It would be a step in the right direction and the political implications of being the first city to do this might spark some real interest in this sort of forward thinking.
Also after hurricane Ivan went through the area, there was an article in the Pensacola New Journal about a high school class that made a portable solar generator for a science class that was later used during the clean up process.
Capt John please contact me to discuss wind and solar power with each individual running for public office in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores this term. bblowe@gulftel.com
