Push for nuclear energy (like France has done), get our oil refineries to state of the art, drill off-shore and domestically, give US car manufactures incentives to produce energy efficient and natural gas cars. Looked at the locations, definetly would need a lot more for this to work.

I don't know much about Wind Power and will leave that to the experts. I think the US plan for decades was to bleed the Middle East dry of their oil, thus ending the dependence. No problem until they sent their students over to OUR best schools, created OPEC and then we effectively united the region, driving Oil prices to historical levels. And now Iran is calling on OPEC to drop production 10% to sustain current prices.
What excites you about this campaign?
Somebody with unquestionable business savvy is behind this. I think it is because Mr. Pickens has made his money & wants the US to be a better place for the following generations.

We are where we are (Iraq) and need to deal with that. McCain has asked why are we paying countries $700 billion dollars a year who want to kill us. Based on my reading, Osma Binladen's terror campaign is based on the root cause of the "infidels" having bases on their sacred ground. Let them have it & let's get out of bed with the Saudi's. Osma is from Saudia Arabia as were most of the terrorists on 9/11. Heck, Clinton started the (CIA?) unit to hunt down Binladen and Bush eliminated it.

We need smart people like Mr. Pickens that can push these critical issues. And, as I tell my friends, if it is a business proposition for him, I would rather see success and Mr. Pickens make a few more billion than sending it to Iran. Comment Wall (1 comment)Leave a Comment for robertkmerrill

(1) Contact Congress: Please Go to THE PLEDGE (very top of this page) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done! Thanks. There's also a FAX in pledge form there, after you do the congress email, there will be a form,if you can print, fill that out and FAX it in, we will use these to affect change and direction with the new administration. So, Fax the Pledge too if you can!

(2) Personal Energy Plan: In addition to political support and action here, I encourage you to take personal action, a Personal Energy Plan in which you take control of your electricity. I have helped other members learn about saving energy by conservation methods and have helped other members learn about home wind/solar systems. I am glad to help you learn and answer any questions. On my page is info and links that will help you learn about power use, conservation, and home generation. These are things I have done myself at my own residence, and robertkmerrill I can help you do the same.

(3) Add A Friend: Everybody needs friends, right? By every comment or under users pictures on the site you'll see links to "+ Add as Friend". This will send a friends request to that user. This makes it easy to introdce yourself and meet people here, it's great. Add me if you like, I'd be honored to be your first friend here. I don't know how many of you have been troubled by a certain Pickens Plan member, Windenergy7, a salesman who greets new members with a sales pitch usually before we, or an official Pickens Plan greeter can welcome them into the Pickens Plan Army

If you’ve encountered this “person” or have heard complaints of such ilk, please raise your complaints to all Regional Leaders as this “shyster” is playing havoc in my group and very few of the new people he greets first will join our group!
