- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I have started an alternative energy store, promoting solar voltaic, wind turbines, and conservation products. I am an electrician, wanting to install more LED lighting fixtures in homes and businesses but they are quite pricey.
I am also interested in starting a commercial composting business to remove compostable green garbage from our landfills. Green kitchen garbage, leaves, grass clippings, tree and shrub trimmings, horse and cow manure, sawmill waste, etc.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I thought Jimmy Carter had the right idea back in the 70's but the nation didn't. Now, after watching gasoline prices getting close to $5.00/gal, I am hopeful that the plan for wind farms, solar projects, and new innovations in energy systems will explode. I would like to see existing homes and business get help in upgrading to alternative energy generation, conservation audits, and better sustainability, lessening each carbon footprint embedded into this planet.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Spreading information to the community. I would like to see projects that put solar voltaic panels on existing homes and business. This needs to become a viable option soon. I would like to see both small, local alternative energy solutions as well as large institutional projects the T. Boone suggests. Nevada is ripe for harvesting solar, geothermal, and wind energy.

I did a search on composting and a message from you came up but it looks like the beginning of it was left off some how. My groups are waste to energy and led lighting. A group of us in our county are organizing citizen recycling since the waste handling company that picks up our garbage is just doing down and dirty which is very expensive and wasteful on all fronts - we are a small and remote rural area. We have years left on our contracts (city and county) with the company so are having to find ways around them that aren't legally actionable. One of the areas is yard waste - which they will only pick up twice a year, Christmas and once in the fall. We have a wonderful bio mass resource available in this area and I'm trying to find ways to enhance it - like is there a product out there that would speed the composting cycle or is there a natural way to encourage the process so we could have sacks of planting soil available in the spring each year from our fall cleanup and what is the best manner in which to to keep it over the winter to maximize its potential? Do you have any suggestions where I could go to find out this information? Thank you.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
