Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I do not have experience with alternative energy, I just know there is a better way than depleting the oil supply and destroying our planet in the process.
What excites you about this campaign?
One, Mr. Pickens, an oilman, is stepping up to plate to offer this country a better way of meeting our demands for energy besides oil. I truly believe wind, solar power and other technologies are available to supply the electricity and fuels we need to maintain our country.
What do you want to do to help?
I would like to propose, educate and unite the Native American Tribes in accepting this plan and putting it into action to fuel the needs of their tribal members. The spiritual beliefs of the Native tribes is mother earth will substain us as long as we are good to her and do not abuse her. By meeting with the tribal leaders and convincing them this is the best alternative for their nations to one: supply power to their people; two: earn money by selling the energy back to the electric companies; three: place turbine on tribal lands. It is a win win situation for the Native American Tribes throughout the US.

Merry Christmas Cheryl,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Cheryl, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Hello Cheryl, These new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits are shipping now. They are sleek, attractive, and well designed. These are actually a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, like dishwasher, home theatre, etc. It's a nice clean way for you to begin your Personal Energy Plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.
Your Wind blows stronger in winter, Your Sun shines stronger in summer. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.
I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs from day one and Cheryl, you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Oklahoma. Check these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.
Cheryl,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment but we have been quite busy on a number of projects. We are involved in discussions with a few tribes that are looking to add wind energy equipment to their tribal facilities to offset electricity that they are purchasing from there local utility with electricity that they can generate.
Unfortunately the cost of this equipment is such that it is still not a profitable opportunity for tribes or many other investors in much of the country unless you are in an area with a combination of very high winds and accessable transmission.
Here in Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains... we only have mostly zones 3 & 4 four wind production. This produces wind production of 25% to 33%, so a 1 Megawatt turbine which might cost over $2 million or more to purchase and install only will produce about 250 -300 kw of electricity. This along with the difficulty of transmission adds greatly to the cost so its very difficult to find cost effective locations to install wind equipment. Our goal is to find those optimum locations that can be beneficial to either tribes or nonnative organizations that can make use of wind energy for their own purposes.
Thanks for your interest and efforts in this area.
Cheryl,
I really agree with your thought to enroll the Oklahoma tribes into the PickensPlan. I hope you can come on Saturday in Tulsa. A few of us are planning to get together the following week to begin to come up with a game plan to move forward. I hope you will be able to join us.
