Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am technical. I bought some Kyocera panels to run a freezer and provide other emergency power (like to finish a wash started before a power outage). Developed a few electric bicycles with different power supp[lies including LI ion.
Also, I work with energy management at www.micrometer.com.
Verify Power-Save 1200™, Circuit Master™, KVar™, Stems™, Kill-A-Watt™, Circuit Master™ and other energy-saving products! Resolve complaints. MicroMeter can log power demands for an entire month! MicroMeter can also help to identify circuits most needing power factor correction and optimize placement of corrective devices. MicroMeter can also help with configuration of branch circuits to minimize the need for
additional corrections.
What excites you about this campaign?
It's overdue.
What do you want to do to help?
Technical input, design, test, evaluation.

Has anyone noticed that while they're trying to ram this $700 billion bailout that some discussion groups are not accessible?

When Barack Obama first mentioned inflating tires to the correct pressure I went to check my tires out of curiosity. I had just purchased tires from NTB and guess what? All 4 tires had icorrect pressure gauge readings. My husband has an air compressor so we adjusted them. Then I started seeing how Obama was being ridiculed over it that frustrated me because we need to be doing EVERYTHING to maximixe energy. I recently went to downtown Austin, TX home of conservative Rick Perry and guess what I saw? A huge banner that extended across a main street that read: "Conserve Energy: Inflate your tires properly!!" I was surprised because Texas is oil country and not too pro-Obama. Needless to say, I was happy to see that Obama's suggestion was being promoted here in Texas.

When the regular cars can't be fed, most people will be quite happy to get around on powered anythings. Having a fancy big vehicle parked in your driveway will be a sign of stupid. You will have to turn it into something useful.

Hi Chris
If auto manufacturers did not sell cars, the cost per mile to a user in the same leased vehicles could be a fraction of what it currently is.

The lease would be for 10 years with a monthly premium diminishing to reflect the aging vehicle. The lease would include insurance and maintenance.

The manufacturer would then have the incentive to build something durable and easy to service.

Since these are fleet vehicles, parts from damaged vehicles could be used to keep the others on the road.

A variation of this plan would be for a foundation to be gifted a vehicle. The foundation modifies the vehicle to run on an alternate fuel and then the foundation rents the car out - possibly to the original owner.

This dramatic drop in the costs of using a domestic or existing vehicle will make the sales of foreign cars less attractive. This will keep money in the country.

If all cars came with interchangeable wheels/tires that were labeled left or right, we could offer an 'exchange-a-tire service'
fewer would finish up in the dump and the energy wasted in mounting and demounting tires would be eliminated.

Vehicles manufactured for such a project could also include an internet connection, a computer and we could also provide the software - but we shouldn't tell everyone about that just yet.

Have you noticed that the oil interests are laughing off Obama's tire pressure suggestion? 3% is a LOT and we all can do this one.
