Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I installed several small to medium sized off grid solar and wind systems, one runs a FM broadcast transmitter site near Lompoc. Check out the my web site at http://www.CHTechServ.com. I attended Solar Power 2006 in San Jose CA. I have SMA Inverter and Outback Power training and hands on experience. I am interested in the Lompoc Wind Energy project and would like to be part of the SCADA/Telemety and performance monitoring system team.
I am a City of Lompoc Utility Commissioner.
What excites you about this campaign?
The opportunity to make a difference in our community. I did not get an opportunity to be a part of the armed forces, but maybe I can help this nation with renewable energy.
What do you want to do to help?
At this time, learn more about what is needed to help. I am a Technical Engineer type and good with design, layout, plans, maintenance of systems.

You definetly look like a serious alternative energy guy. Allright! I am a couch potato who is willing to learn as much as I can to further this energy independence plan. If you feel like expounding on the subject I would appreciate it.

Sam

Hi Chris
The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.
PLEASE,
Kim

Hi Chris
It has been a while since we kept in touch last!
We are now over 1.2 million suporters. We will need many more if we are to beat back the damn lobbyists and special interests. Can you help with the pledges? Every American needs to sign on. With pledges we can fan out and reach so many. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. I was able to get 300 signed in the first 4 days - everyone wants to to get off of foreign oil. We may never have a golden opportunity like this again!
ARE YOU IN?
Best
Kim

Hi Chris
Find out in the groups listing if there is one already in your area. Make contact with them. See if they have anything planned. I am waiting until the petitions come online to meet with the RI group. Then we will really have something that we can do together. Until then email contact and support for us is o.k.
'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says
Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.
A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.
Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.
Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.
"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."
Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.

Actually, I work in Goleta and commute with a few people are beginning to have interest in Pickens Plan. There has to be more people in the north county who would be supporters, considering all the commuters. Maybe they don't get how wind farms would benefit them in energy usage in their homes, but also in commuting. I am going to check around to see about groups in Ventura and San Luis Obispo. If you are interested in starting up a group in SB county, maybe we can get some ideas on how to get the word out.
Hello Chris, I live in Lompoc too and am interested in getting the word out about Pickens Plan. Do you know of any others in town who might be interested in setting up a meeting so we can all meet perhaps organize some sort of drive to educate the people of our community about alternative energy?
I have a lot of experience with energy efficiency and rebate programs. My wife and I have a 7.5 kWh PV system that powers our home. I can also tell you about the energy efficient measures I have taken and the results. Short email answers are free.
Hello Chris; just wanted to invite you to check out some of my groups/discussions on this site, as well as on my other sites: AlternativeEnergy.com which is home to EnergyTalk Experts LIVE
