• 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars by 2015
• 10% of electricity from renewable sources by 2012, and 25% by 2025.
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.

My particular interest is in puting pressure on the State government and politicians to support renewable energy projects in Virginia. Everyone is for "green" but "not in my backyard"(NIMBY's). Virginia only has one commercial wind project under way and it took over two years to get it through the approval process. We have to streamline the process and clear out the red tape. What good is National /State programs and funding if a local zoning board and out-of-state bat watchers can stop them dead? Virginia has plenty of private and public land along the Blue Ridge and Applachian Mountains that have high wind energy potential---we must let the private owners' and public assets be used for the public good and put up wind turbines!

Please add a comment about this early education concept at the site. It's an idea in formation and everyone's input is sought and welcome.
Now that you've taken the plunge remember it's all about the volume of our voice in DC which is in direct proportion to our numbers. Spread the PICKENS PLAN word to as many in your network of friends, family and colleagues as possible. Join your local CONGESSIONAL DSTRICT GROUP and volunteer to lead or co-lead. Our experience in NJ is that having a partner in the process makes it easier, more affective and if you’re lucky enough as we have been to find the right person, way more fun!
We’re very happy to have you with us. With you along, and 1.4 million others, maybe we’ll actually get this thing done. Keep you horse watered and your powder dry, it's going to be a long dusty ride.

- Since the early 70s, I've believed that we were misusing the energy of the Earth. There's got to be a better way. I believe that this plan is America's, as well as the Earth's, best chance to clean up after ourselves as well as continue moving forward.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- EVERYTHING!!!
Just saw Mr. Pickens on TV this morning, taking calls and emails. I think that got my husband hooked, too.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Anything that I can. I am unable to work full time, so am at my computer a lot. I can speak with people also (I used to teach entreprenuers how to build their businesses).
