Yes, the Alaska-Canada natural gas pipeline needs to brought to construction stage, and a beginning made on hybrid heavy trucks that can convert easily from CNG to the gas they presently use. We need to contact our Congressman and Senators on this,…

Watch Out For the Political Yahoos

If anyone is going to sink the PickensPlan before it gets done, its going to be the political Yahoos that are trying to use this site as a means to advance their own agenda. Whether it be from the left or the right, this is not the forum to espouse your political ideology. What we are interested in doing here is getting a plan in motion to reduce the reliance of the United States on foreign oil! That's it, simply put! I don't care who gets that objective accomplished, whether he be Democrat or R… Continue

Put America First, Buy American!

I want to take this one step further than Mr. Pickens. Not only do we not want to buy foreign oi, but lets put the brakes on the other foreign products that are killing American business. Specifically I am talking about buying foreign automobiles. Don't get me wrong, I've owned Toyotas, Datsuns, Yamahas and several other foreign cars and motorcycles. However that was then and this is now. We are in the financial fight of our lifetime. The economy has cratered and the stock market is in the tank.… Continue

Why I Believe We Need To Use Compressed Natural Gas In Our Cars

When I first joined the Pickens Army I didn't agree fully with Mr. Pickens that the best temporary solution for our automobile fuel problems would be the use of CNG or compressed natural gas. I originally believed that we could best use Ethanol for the short run until other reusable fuels became available. I thought that because ethanol was a liquid and wouldn't require changing the fuel pumps at gas stations and that all the infrastructure was already in place to use it. Also the fact that conv… Continue

Let Us Not Get Sidelined by Extremists

Mr. Pickens recently presented his Plan to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO. He has also spoken directly to both presidential hopefuls, Barack Obama and John McCain. Both parties are interested in what he has to say. The point here is that all of us, both Conservatives and Liberals have a vested interest in going forward with this plan. We must stop the redistribution of wealth from the United States to the Middle East. In order to do that, we must work together. We need to avoid… Continue

What I've Learned About Ethanol

Its amazing what you can learn if you put your mind to it. When I first joined the Picken's Army I only half-heartedly supported the use of ethanol as an automotive fuel. First because I didn't think it a good idea to use food sources like corn, to make ethanol. I quickly learned that most of the ethanol today comes from "feed corn". Still corn is corn and it wasn't until I read a comment from another Pickens member about the work in progress to use "Switch Grass" as an Ethanol source that I beg… Continue

Clay if the American coalition for ethanol have presented truthful findings, I feel that ethanol, produced from other than food stuff, would be a good source of energy. Ofcourse other factors would have to be considered, such as cost and efficiency. Alcohol would only be one ofthe alterative fuels, not the only....Doc

Hi Clay, great to have a new friend in Florida! I heard an excellent lect. You can view it on C-Span.org. It is by Anna Korin. She emphasizes why independence of energy is vital to national security. She has facts to back up what she says. She is the co-drector of the Institute of Analysis for Global Security. You can find this lecture under the National Youth Conference. I think that it would interest you.

With kindest regards,
L.A.

Hi Clay, nice to be your friend. I truly believe Pickensplan can work. I'd like to be involved in some effective way. I work for The Palm Beach Post at the advertising department as a copywriter-proofreader-translator and my professional background is in advertising and TV production. Things have to change in America or we are going down the tube as an economic power and a moral beacon as well.

Welcome to the chance to make a difference in our lives!
Here's how you can help.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. www.pickensplan.com. Ask them to JOIN. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.

So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done. Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. .

If you have a connection to the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write a letter to your Representative or Senator- get them to see this.
We added close to 3,000 members yesterday.... it should be 10 times that!

Want to learn more? Check out the Topeka, Kansas Town Meeting video (on the right hand side, in blue, on the home page). Very informative.

Have a nice day. Please let me know how it goes. Feel free to friend me.
Kim
