- I am going to add additional pictures to this web site that shows what happens to class 2 and class 3 wind regions . Most of the Midwest, Northeastern and Southern states have poor solar and wind resources. What the high altitude wind turbines allow you do is to change those areas from being poor productive areas to a highly productive regions. Essentially, ot moves the great wind areas of plain states to your back yard! Look at the graph of radiosonade data of Alabama for example. Here a class 1 wind resource is turn into a class 6 wind resources.
I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people in Wyoming who gave 15 sections of land over to be developed into a wind park. The average wind speeds was 20 mph. But, because of lack of transmission grid, this wind park has not been developed. It would been the largest wind park in world. I have been on the ground, and I have seen the wind. Believe me, it is windiest area I have even seen. I am good friends with this rancher and their family. Pickens is right about needing a new transmission lines to harvest the windy sections of US; but we also need near in term systems as well; called distributed grids or smart grids. We must also understand how the grid management works in this country. You just can't dump power on the line without a "melt down". I f having 10,000 solar systems in small region on 10,000 houses, the grid management may become a problem. When sun comes up 10 MW of energy is hitting the lines. Remember, these lines were constructed with idea of a one way street and not a 2 way street. This why community solar and wind parks are need to help us manage the grid.
For last 10 year, Clyde has involved in renewable energy projects and start-up companies. Clyde has lectured at SolWest and other conference on concentrating solar systems, wind development for small wind farms, effect of solar farming in Oregon and Washington. Clyde is expert in small micro-wind geographic regions, advances in spectral splitting solar concentrators, solar panels and systems, and fuel cells technology. Clyde was apart of National Hydrogen Association and its fund for small researchers.
After Clyde graduated from Oregon State University in Mathematics, Clyde begins his career by a number of companies involved in large scale computers. Clyde involvement included uplink control for Skylab with Martin-Marietta Corporation, merging both paleontology information and seismic information together in online database for Pal American Oil, new timeshare development for Start-up company owned by Dole Pineapple, online banking systems with several card processing companies; and design of computer system under National Semiconduction Corporation, herein Clyde was designer of the I-unit of plug compatible IBM replacement computer called the D machine.
During this period 20 years of Clyde’s life, he was involved in large scale machines, microprogramming channel architecture, and channel architecture and responsible for implementation of IBM channel changes in multiprocessors. In addition to Clyde’s help in large scale machines, Clyde also was involved with Commodore early ventures into computer and developed certain key attributed for fixed format architecture for disk drives.
Sometime in 1978, Clyde invented his first computer using a novel method of search an associated memory using 5 step algorithms. Clyde patented a 256 page patent application on new database machine. This machine was build by Army Research Lab under contract for NSA.
In 1981, Clyde again struck out on his one to develop a new write once optical media using two layer polymer systems that revolutionized the way write once media was made for music recording. In 1987, Clyde recorded the first music on CD quality disk and play back on refitted CD player. Clyde has five patent issued to his name on optical media. In 1989, this technology was sold to N V Philips.
Today, Clyde is working a new invention with another individual to make high altitude wind turbines a reality by having automated stowing system to bring the turbine down because of certain weather conditions that FAA will manadate.

First 100 day of new Adminstration--Organize now to go to Congress
Hi everyone
We have a new person by name of Micah Lauer. Mr Lauer job is help organize the army. Well when I think of an Army, I think of marching some where. Congress is good place to start. So Micah, are we marching to Congress next year and get the changes we need into the American Energy Act or not.? If so why not!!

Congress will be going out for the elections
Hi
Congress will be going out for the electkion soon, hopefully they will enact a production tax cfredit for wind lasting for 5 years so we don't have to make this a goal every year.
2. New need a new tax structure, namely a consumption tax in order to pay our bill and do away with the income tax structure. A comsumption tax can pay for all of our expense including a production tax credit for wind.

The Pickens Plan is a good energy usage idea. I’ve have not heard about the plan for a while. I skimmed through the letter and it brought back memories of things that should have been done over 30 years ago. I will forward the letter to my congressman. It would be great to be a part of getting the Pickens Plan in action in America. America is suffering from an Illegal President and the Shadow Government of the Illuminati, the Bilderberg Group, and the few filthy rich like George Soros. The recent event of Obama ordering military strikes on Libya without congressional approval proves shadow government is pulling Obama’s strings. And Obamacare passing despite the fact that 80% of Americans are against the government running our medical system is another example. Our government is no longer ours but is controlled by evil people. I am a poor man who has been screwed out of money owed me for very serious illegal actions done to me in a medical facility. But if I had the money the State of Louisiana owes me I would make my home, off the grid, solar and wind powered energy with a 24 hour battery backup system. But Evil men in government deny me justice so I have very little. It would be great to get a job promoting the Pickens Plan if I could make enough money to live well and install the solar and wind electrical generations along with a very large battery backup. Then I would like to have enough money to purchase a gas- electric hybrid car and an all electric car along with enough solar plates, installed just to charge the electric car with the class 3 charging system. But this is a worthless dream because of the evil in our government that rewards criminals in the government and the medical industry and denies innocent people justice. And this evil in government is also why good ideas like the Pickens Plan Is not given the serious attention it merits. If you have a good idea or a well paying job for me please let me know I am very interested. Please reply.

Thank you for your contact, however I have come to believe that Obama's America has long passed a tipping point of no return and that he is driving the US toward a marxist/socialist end by choice. Thus I; along with currently over 2,000 (6,650 jobs) other west coast corporations, am in the process of moving my business operations north a crossed the US border into Canada where my taxes are less than 1/2, no one tlls you who you can; or not, hire and the list of benefits grow longer every day. Even more important - THEY have MONEY to BUY my PRODUCTS too!

I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

Honorable Speaker of the House Congresswoman Pelosi,
I am an Electronic Technician Chief in the US Navy with 27 years service stationed overseas. I’m outlying an idea to assist and work with current plans for achieving energy independence. I urge you, as speaker of the house and the driving force to form the select committee on energy independence and global warming, consider for discussion and introduction into the house US Treasury Savings Bonds for Energy Independance.
In WWII America sold war bonds supporting the war effort. When young, my mother told me her primary school raised enough money through bonds to build a tank to support troops. I am impressed with the patriotism and purpose of our greatest generation that accomplished so much.
Selling energy bonds for RE (Renewable Energy) development would lower foreign oil imports and assist with the complex problem of funding. Bonds sold as “Energy S” could support new solar trough plants, “Energy W” to support wind farms, Energy “H” to support hydroelectric plants, Energy “T” to support RE transportation such as electric bullet train routes powered by RE, Energy "C" COOPS for small communities only needing a small quantity of turbines, and Energy “I” for needed infrastructure high voltage power lines to the RE site. Bonds will have the project name and include an artist’s perspective of the project and an American flag. President Obama had great success with the internet during his campaign. In a similar manner, using the internet, energy bonds could have a website listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” could purchase a bond $25 or higher. Simpler methods of payment such as “PAYPAL” and credit cards would be available and after an electronic purchase is complete a color print out of the bond is available with a follow up of the bond in the mail. The website would limit quantity of projects for each category until funding is complete. After a project becomes funded, a new project will be available. A tab on the site will show history and status of previous projects. Purchasers may take great pride in “collecting” and displaying bonds of various RE projects and participating at different levels of financial support. Solar trough plants in the multi-hundred MW size capacity with molten salt energy storage in California, Arizona, and West Texas can provide a major portion of electric needs. North Dakota has potential to support 1/3 of our nations electric needs in it’s class 4 wind zone areas. There are plenty of suitable proposed wind turbine farms now around the nation to significantly increase our RE if funded. Mid sized hydro-electric has not been used in America to it’s full potential. Following the example of our neighbor, Canada, it would provide a significant increase in percentage of electric production. Developing all three we could provide the majority of our electric and heating needs through renewable energy in a "New New Deal" fashion allowing natural gas for transportation as T. Boone Pickens is working for. Bullet train routes have proven a viable alternative to commercial domestic air service and when powered by electricity provided by RE suppliers America would be in the forefront of world technology. Example, I heard of discussion for a commuter train from Denver to Colorado Springs. Such a route built as a renewable energy project with charter requirement legally requiring to only purchase electricity from available renewable energy sources would be a model example. There are many train routes, city bus systems, and government vehicles that can be converted to run from alternative energy sources and fuels. Jobs created would bolster the economy, lower trade deficit, and strengthen national security. I would take great pride in print outs of bonds with graphics of each project I supported and many other Americans would also. The energy bonds could have tax breaks. BLM lands may be a viable place to start for some projects.
I contacted the US treasury department and was told that the marketing department for savings bonds closed several years ago. I was told there would be problems because savings bonds are at the federal level while the projects will be at the state and local level. I disagree and believe that these can easily be figured out in the way of grants to the state and local level using money from the bonds for those specific projects. I was told to check out auctions on the www.treasurydirect.gov website and found them to not apply to citizens wanting to buy savings bonds to support a cause such as energy independance. I was told by the treasury department to look into CREB (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). I found CREB to be large scale funding that a citizen would not be able to participate in as a US Treasury Energy Independance Bond would provide. If given the tools to participate directly, the power of the citizens of the United States to help achieve energy independance could not be denied. Americans mean well and the Energy Independance Savings bond program will give citizens the power at their level to make it happen. If marketed through a web page, commercials, and to federal employees the word would get out and participation would spread like wildfire.
Mr. Paul Gipe, a resident of Bakersfield CA, an author of several books about wind energy, and recipient of multiple awards as a pioneer in the industry since the 1970's has put a letter I wrote to Senator Dorgan on this subject as well as an older letter I wrote on wind COOP in JAN07.
