Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am a chemical engineering senior at Florida State University. I am 24, single and have a dog named leon. My hobbies include fishing, diving, making beer and playing golf. I am doing research on bioenergy via Enzymatic Cellulose Hydrolysis. I am very interested in deep ocean currents off of the coast of Florida. I am very familiar with commercial fisherman in Florida and want to help them lower their energy costs. As a chemical engineer I know alot about the oil industry considering I know less than some but more than most. My greatest experience in alternative energy was finding a book that had not been checked out in over 10 years that was written in 1970. The book has information about the gasification process that can make every type of fuel from anything with carbon. So this means we can use anything for fuel; plastic, tires, an old couch, a broken ping pong table. Pretty much anything that isn't a rock, dirt, or metal can be made into fuel in the future.
What excites you about this campaign?
The man behind the plan is respectable, unlike the leaders of our country. The fact that there is A plan. Of Course we must add to this plan, with hydroelectric power from our rivers and ocean currents.

I am excited to see that there are so many people interested in this plan. The only people I have met that did not support the plan are in complete denial and should have the electricity shut down to their house until they join pickensplan.com.
What do you want to do to help?
Work, doing what I do. I need investors to help with getting biofuels and natural gas to the citizens of Florida! Vehicles here run on ethanol, but there are no E85 stations.

In the next year my goal is to get a job for a biomass gasification company here in Florida since we are the number one source of Biomass Carbon in the World.

T. Boone on CSPAN 12/02/2008

Did you guys see T. Boone on C-SPAN? I was very concerned at the ideology of Stephen Moore from The Wall Street Journal he was very wrong in my opinion. He thinks we have great technology in Oil, but not in green energy. He uses statistics about existing green energy to base his numbers; not what we can do. He uses the statistics from the past and not from now. He needs to look at how these green jobs will help us in more than one way. Converting to the Pickens Plan will do everything that Steph… Continue

What companies I would start!

The first company I would start is a power generation company that uses natural gas from landfills that are capped but not currently being used for power generation.

The next company I would start is a biofuel service station starting in Jacksonville, Live Oak, and Tallahassee FL. The station would sell Biodiesel, Dimethyl Ether, Ethanol, Methanol, Butanol and Natural Gas. I would work with a company to make a pump that would allow you to mix DME, Biodiesel and Petro-diesel in and combination.… Continue

Biodiesel Feedstock Overview - Triglyceride Waste

Triglyceride Waste

Introduction
This purpose of this report is to discuss waste biological oils, better known as triglycerides and most commonly used as cooking oil. The report will include the different types of triglycerides, why this is considered a waste, how this waste should be treated, and future methods of treatment. Since used oil has only recently became valuable this topic is very important to the fate of several different industries in the future. This report will cover the differen… Continue

The Research Isn't Working??

Research that won't pan out? That is the exact opposite of everything that I say. The technology has always been here. There is just not enough small companies investing in the technology. Instead of people investing in things that could really help our economy, we just invest in housing.

I agree that we should drill on the east coast, and hope the nipple is offshore Jacksonville. But drilling should cost the government nothing.

Mobil created a process in the 70s to convert methanol to gasolin… Continue

Hey John, Look Here!

It seems building Nuclear Plants could only benefit a small number of people in relation to solar power grants. Nuclear has a faster payback than solar, but who benefits from us buying nuclear?? I don't see new companies starting up to build nuclear plants. Aren't we in a recession? Is our energy need not a good source of economic growth?

It is tough for me to say this as I apply to jobs at nuclear power plants. My mind is set on working in the energy sector.

The question is should american's… Continue

Wal_Mart was founded and built on the "made in America" philosophy. It has only been since founder Sam Walton died that Wal-Mart abandoned that ideal and became what they are today.

Colt, my brother is a home builder at Orange Beach down in Mobile, Alabama and he goes deep sea fishing sometimes. He does not have a deep sea fishing boat but he has nice speed boat and trailer, he rents and goes with his son.

My mothers friend has a swimming pool and the cleaner man has not been there for months and it is thick in green slime so how do I handle that stuff to get any benefit out of it? It is more than I have a container for and there are many more swimming pools around these neighborhoods so I figure I would need a very large oil storage tank, much larger than milk would store in to process it and what a business that could become. Need some partners to get a storage tank and some land to do it on for that business.

Ever come upon a slough of triglycerides which resulted in being there because of a hurricane? Wonder if that could be removed from the water and filtered. Nice find start looking in areas where the water can bog up and not have anywhere to go, guess it would have a odor I would not recognize but it must stink to high heaven. Make some biofuel out of that mess.

A small commercial nuclear plant only costs $1 million it is all the automoakers need to fix their problem with importing steel for their vehicles from China. Now the price on shipping has increased and China has added VAT to all their products, this includes the rolls of steel Ford Motor etc. buy up in Canada and fabricate Canadian made vehicles with and then sell them in America. You would not realize it is Chinese steel unless you remove the paint from the vehicle and find the watermark embedded into the metal "Made In China". I think many congressmen are not aware of this problem, I need to inform Barney Frank. I also think it is a bad idea to pay off their debt which means the money our government gives them is destined to go to China and maybe Canada gets some of it but a lot of it beefs up the shipper wallet. You may not have heard of Ben Ben (a Chinese gasoline auto) yet, it is a Chinese Electric Automobile now being remade by Electrovaya, Canadian company, and is now being fabricated with power train parts fabricated by Electrovaya, Ford has a investment in the original company in China named "Changan" as their Chinese partner. See story.

Hi Colt, Nice to meet you. I read your bio above. Very cool that you are a chemical engineer and you have some knowledge on the gasification process :-D (I won't be so lonely now lol).

Now I need an electrical engineer and we can start the Wal-Mart of energy.... haha By that I mean market domination. I guess I will write up my ideas on the coming energy boom shortly. Based on the economy over the last 30 years I think the boom/bust model is what works and there are opportunities right now to create massively funded corporations based on a wish and a prayer. Yes I am being a bit sarcastic with that but it is reality nevertheless... You just need the right model...

Hey Colt....great pics by the way....I have a few of my own! Costa Rica Sails in particular. When I built my house I wanted to be off the grid, but it was going to cost over $16000 (2500 sf) and I still would not be totally independant, so what I did was to add Icynene insulation, foam filled my blocks, low-e glass in windows and doors, all energy efficient bulbs, and a very efficient wood stove. I also have propane (we don't have the option of natural gas unfortunatley) stove, dryer, water heater and grill about $700 per year. We have two portable generators @ $250 each back-fed into the house on an as needed basis which has only been once for more than a couple of hours. My electric is about $150 in the summer, $80 during the winter, we never use electric heat w/the wood stove. If I had it to do again, the only thing I would change is I would have on-demand water heaters in the bathrooms and kitchen.
