Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Over the last 30 days we've been researching alternative fuels for the trucking industry. We just completed a podcast interview with Kenworth's Andy Douglas on LNG Trucks.
What excites you about this campaign?
Boone's plan to use NG from electric power generation and allocate it to the transportation industry through development of wind farms. Additionally, LNG used for trucking may prove to be a real savings for the independent regional trucker.
What do you want to do to help?

The Old Farmer and the New Wind Mill

reposted with permission from Windgistics.com

In southern Minnesota the farm land is flat and rich in nutrients. Old farmers didn't use any fertilizer on top of the black soil unless it came from the barn. John Deeres were called "Johnny Poppers" and would run all day on a few visits to the gas barrel.

The farmer's wind mill was centrally located at the highest point to provide water for livestock and the farmhouse alike.… Continue

T. BOONE PICKENS describes himself as an oil-and-gas man, but what he has really been adept at producing over the years are attention and ruckus, with him at the center of both.

Back in his corporate raiding days in the 1980s, his takeover bids… Continue

Alternative Fuel for the Trucking Industry

The use of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) for trucks is currently working in California ports. Here's a podcast interview that explains a little more. Kenworth's Andy Douglas on Alternative Fuel for the Trucking Industry. The 22% outlined in Boone's Plan is very important to the trucking industry.

Andy Douglas, from Kenworth, has been working on "Green Initiatives" for over two years and he's starting to see the fruits of his labor. To understand… Continue

Hi, Just browsing the posts tonight. I live in Springfield, MO. My husband was in transportation before retiring. We feel sorry to everyone with these high diesel prices.
What company are you with?
Linda
PS: I sure would like to see an active group in Missouri. Do you know of any plans for a get together?

Craig,
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must focus on drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT
