This is from Jessica our Regional Leader and I am posting it here in hopes of asking you to help support this call. Once again we need as many District 14 members to get involved and help get more District 14 members. Remember I can be reached here…

Hey all. Our best move now is to build our District 14 membership with plan members from our District. We have been quite busy and through a few changes. There have been a few technical issues that have slowed our progress, i.e., about 125 members n…

What excites you about this campaign?
I'm excited because I am doing something to promote the campaign. I want to get into a ground floor opportunity that I believe will truly make a real difference. As the price of a barrel of oil goes down which it has in the past and is doing now, at this time, I want to be part of a plan that will allow us not to be caught in our energy dependency from foreign sources, like we have before, when the price goes up again and we know it will.
What do you want to do to help?
To become a District Leader and help to gain support for the plan from 500 or more citizens concerned about Energy.

Hello all. We are still waiting for about 130ish members to appear at District 14. I fear they were lost in the shuffle of e-mails, positionng, auto sign ups, direct sign os, Faxes, Lists, and spreadsheets. In the mean time I'll keep checking and look'n.

Dan,

My name is Gary Trees and I am the District Leader across the river for District 1, Iowa. I think that it would be a great idea for us to put something together for a QC meet-up. I think that we could promote the Picken's Plan very well if we were to make some competition between states. It would be good motivation to keep the Picken's Plan in the forefront of our member's mind and to spread the word. I think that this is even more important with the virtual march on Washington coming up in the near future. I also think that it would help us on the Iowa side since our group has been spinning our wheels to get going lately. Any help or advice that your group could provide would be greatly appreciated. I have areas where we can meet for free at anytime. The accomidations have big screen TV's, couches, kitchen areas, etc.: excellent place for a meet-up. Let me know what you think when you have the chance.

Thanks,
Gary A Trees

Dan what Pickens is offering is an excellent 1st step. I have couple of ideas to share with you. CNG is a solution but I see 2 problems & a solution. The public may see having a CNG car as too expensive and what do they do if they run out of CNG on the interstate. Most need be made to understand that a vehicle can run on UNleadedd and switch to CNG and visversa. CNG filling stations are also few to non-exsistent.

The big 3 three could salvage an obsolete fleet of SUV's by converting to CNG and making available to public lower price conversion packages and if all Big three dalerships could install CNG filling stations across America we could create a lot of jobs and make resale of SUV fleet a good thing and have filling stations for all.

Way to get involved Kimberly! Sounds like your up and running! Name taking is on going and a good way to measure effectiveness of your efforts, plan awareness and support. Sign ups will only allow people to get as involved as they want; they do not have to set up a page, recruit or do anything they don't want too. Signing up really only gives them the chance to be heard or get involved if that’s what they want. We all have a common ground by signing up and a place to push the plan and its ideals. The rhetoric of those that don’t sign up will not be heard or waste our time and efforts.

If your sister has half the involvement you have I’m sure NIU will be successful. Perhaps it’s best to outline your efforts from beginning to set up and share your trials and tribulations with your sister for a smooth transformation. (Do it right and I’ll bet it could serve as a good paper for one of your classes.) Keep me posted. Good Luck, Dan

I believe that sometimes I have trouble navigating and wind up posting things twice and not being able to follow threads and such things. Thanks in advance for bearing with me. Hope I answered a question or two. I think once you have a local
chapter, i.e., a Pickens U at ISU people will want to sigh up and it will be on-going. Also, two sites to keep your eye on are; http://www.whitehouse.gov/ and http://www.recovery.gov/
