Dave-
I like your letter. If you don't mind, I am going to use some of it to write my local representatives.

Greetings, All!

Well, I believe I finally have a truly effective system for signing up new Pickens Plan members. I have created two (2) PDF files which form the front and back of an 8.5" by 11" sheet of card stock. I print out these sheets and cut them to the appropriate 3.5" by 5" cards, which provide the needed information for an individual to join with us.

The front includes places for them to fill out their name, email address, password, date of birth and zip code. I advise them that there is opportunity to get involved in promoting the Pickens Plan by going to the Website and filling out the additional information found at the following link:

They are instructed to click on the blue “Join” button and then fill out the form.

I show them copies of the following PDF files so they can see what they would need to fill out and how to do it:

Otherwise, I tell them that, the information on the card is all that is necessary to get behind the Pickens Plan.

The back side includes the following quote from the "About" page found here:

“The Pickens Plan calls for building new wind generation facilities that will produce 20% of our nation's electricity and allow us to use natural gas as a transportation fuel. The combination of these domestic energies can replace more than one-third of our foreign oil imports. And we can do it all in 10 years.

We Can Bring Change

On January 20th, 2009, a new President will take office. We’re organizing behind the Pickens Plan now to ensure our voices will be heard by the next administration. Together we can raise a call for change and set a new course for America’s energy future in the first hundred days of the new presidency breaking the hammerlock of foreign oil and building a new domestic energy future for America with a focus on sustainability. You can start changing America's future today by supporting the Pickens Plan. Join now.”

Below are the links to the PDF files:

I sincerely hope you find this information helpful. Feel free to share it with all Pickens Plan members.

Dave - not had the pleasure of visiting your state - one of the ten or so I've missed - but got close in Sioux Falls, SD!

Thanks for the contact...I've not had time to be as active as I thought I might...but your blog of July 30 below gives me a great checklist to use for carrying hard copies or sending electronic versions as I do "take time" to be energized.

Best wishes on your solar initiative.

Thought you would like to have a copy of the letter I sent to Federal Senator Dorgan of North Dakota:

Greetings, Senator Dorgan!

I am writing about the much publicized energy plan of T. Boone Pickens. By now I am sure you are aware that this most successful 80 year old business man has developed an effective plan to solve our energy dilemma. Like most Americans, I am sick and tired of paying well over $4.00 per gallon for my gas. This issue must be permanently solved before our whole country is in the tank! We don't want temporary fixes. We need a permanent solution to this urgent situation!

I am asking you to fully support the Pickens Plan, especially regarding Mr. Picken's request that the Federal Government provide the money, necessary laws and whatever else might be needed to make it possible for the installation of the renewable energy transmission lines. He firmly believes that private enterprise will readily provide the wind towers, solar systems, etc. to produce the renewable energy that we need so desperately. However, because of the shortage of time, the Federal Government must provide the transmission system.

As a private citizen of your state I am counting on you to do your part to see to it that this transpires!

If you need further information on this issue, you can find it at > http://www.pickensplan.com/ <.

Thanks you in advance for your part in this effort.

Greetings, Pickens Plan Members!
For what ever it is worth, this is what I am doing in Bismarck, North Dakota:
1 - I am using my Web site to promote The Pickens Plan. Feel free to look around. The top of each of the major pages is loaded with material about the Pickens Plan and alternative energy technologies that I consider to have great potential for solving our energy problem.
Please note:
Each of the images (photos, graphic designs, etc.) is linked to other pages with additional material for your consideration.
2 - I have printed out the pages of the PDF files listed below and stapled them together in the order displayed. I use that material as a handout for communicating the Pickens Plan. Please feel free to open each file and print it out for your own use.

http://media.pickensplan.com/pdf/pickensplan.pdf
http://www.enhancedweb.com/PickensPlanPage1SignUpForm.pdf
http://www.enhancedweb.com/PickensPlanPage2SignUpForm.pdf
3 - I am recruiting strong individuals to join with me for the purpose of spreading the news of the Pickens Plan which I believe is found in the second of the PDF files above. Together we will develop a strategy for communicating the Pickens Plan in this community.
4 - I am educating myself on the subject of the Pickens Plan by reading the second PDF above and by listening carefully to the videos that Mr. Pickens has included on his site. I am making written note of key points and am write them down. I then seek to get them firmly in my mind.
5 - I look for opportunities to explain the Pickens Plan to people that I see in my daily life and I encourage them to join the plan by filling out the forms found at the Pickens Plan website. I show them how to do that by pointing out the steps for doing it:
Go to my Website on the Internet. The URL (location) is seen on the bottom left of the first PDF page.
I tell them to click on the black and white banner which states, "Join with the .....".
I then show them the two pages of the form and explain to them how to fill them out.
I hope you find this material helpful.
Sincerely,
Dave Anderson, Administrator
