What excites you about this campaign?
Converting to renewable non-polluting energy is the most important need for this century. The current arrangement has destroyed our economy, is destroying our environment, and threatens the future of the USA and humanity.

On your comment about having a lake on a hill. That was my idea (along with a Swiss friend's) from 1968.
We had windmills to generate electricity to run the pumps. Basically the lake was a simple energy storage system. If the wind was low, the falling water generated power. Any rain or snow fall was free power.
It would work even better if you had a spring 1/2 way up the mountain, then you divert some of the water to the lake.
Dave,
You can measure the wind with an anomometer/recorder that is available from the alternativeenergystore.com up by Boston. You can also look at the wind resource map at D.O.E to get a general idea of what wind you may have available. If you are near the top of High Ridge you should have good wind for this area as you are in a spot that is like the 3rd. to 5th highest point in the state. Trees can make a large difference. We should probably start with a site evaluation. Tower cost are the most important considerations for a project as well as "neighbor issues" as a lot of people don't like these things in there next door neighbors yards because they can be noisy!! Solar on the other hand is without any objection unless there are rules from a home owners assoc. against such things on a roof. If you want to see the pics of the project I just completed go to alternativeenergy.com, click on members and do a search for Jim C., there you can see those as well as my discussions and blog post. It is truely time for all of us to get in the game!!

Hi Neighbor,
I live right down the road in House Springs. I hope to run into you some time. It looks like we have a few things in common. I have worked on a couple of geo systems in the past as well as solar and wind projects. Mybe we can work together to promote alt.energy in this area.
