- I have been interested in alternatives to fossil fuels for years. Being an information technology project manger for the past 25 years, I have seen some interesting ideas in the way of alternative power. I now feel obligated to my children to do something to preserve our country's wealth and energy resources. I feel this is the number one problem confronting the world today.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- The first time I heard about the amount of wealth this country was transferring, I was shocked into reality. I have admired Boone Pickens for a while now as a down-to-earth, genuinely concerned, and intelligent man capable of leading this crusade. This program has a great potential of actually getting alternative energy solutions out of the labs and into practical use.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Numbers is the name of this game. Each of us has to make a concerted effort to get the word out and become involved in having new members join. This internet thing seems to be going really well, but tried and true campaigning techniques will need to be executed in addition to this effort. Some people need to be led to the "trough".
I was running this idea by an associate of mine and he liked it. In order to garner the support for this plan, I would be willing, along with my associates, to "Walk Across America" from the East to West on order to drum up grass roots support for this absolutely necessary plan in each city along our path. With assistance in logistics, we could further this cause by documenting the walk, giving interviews along the way, signing memebers up on-the-spot, and supporting ourselves in a completely "green" manner along the entire route. As a project manager I have the skill set to plan this endeavor, and would require only logistical and event coordination as we came into area of publicity along the way. Of course, an indepth knowledge of the plan will be necessary, and it would be great to include
Mr. Pickens in some of the events along the way. By events I mean local radio interviews as we come through strategic areas reporting on the progress and purpose of the walk. I think it would be a great way to garner support for this effort and I am willing to put the time and effort into making it become the greatest crusade of this century.
