I want to get a Haynesville "street team" going to get the film into
communities across the country via house parties and community
screenings. The movie is a great way to educate people as to the
potential of natural gas as a clean, domestic energy source/fuel. So
many people said they were not good at community outreach because they
didn't know what to say. Well, this film does the talking for you!!!
It is an independently produced film which means it is a grassroots
film for a grassroots organization! I'd like all State and District
Leaders to get a copy. We have all worked very hard on this movement
and I think this film will make our job even easier. Please tell your
friends on and off the web about the film via your blog or website and
please get your own copy of the DVD to show to people in your area
such as your friends and family, schools, churches, business groups,
etc.
David, you said, "Did you ever have any success in getting insurance for your LNG/gasoline car?"
Yes I WAS able to obtain insurance for the GM Chevy Cavalier CNG that was sold directly to the federal government and whose VIN was not on any state, and therefore any insurance co., (vehicle identification number) VIN list.
First I had to go to a special titling group within the State's Dept of Motor Vehicle. The special titling group, unlike the local offices, has seen federal vehicles purchased at auction. With the proper supporting documentation including a picture of the VIN, the State registered the vehicle as a foreign vehicle.
Next I went to two Chevy dealers and told them I needed verification that the auto was factory-built as a CNG vehicle. They checked the vehicle's VIN against their list of Chevy VINs and both Chevy dealership gave me the same document---the Build Sheet. This sheet has approximately 40 specifications that are particular to the specific vehicle identified by the VIN.
After obtaining the title and Build Sheet, I did independent research for separate validation that the Cavalier was factory built as a CNG vehicle. The federal website www.fueleconomy.gov shows a CNG vehicle being built in the year of the car. Additionally, Edmunds.com shows a CNG Cavalier being made that year.
So with the title, GM's Build Sheet, and two outside sources showing that GM built CNG Cavaliers that year, the insurance company, AIG, issued motor vehicle insurance.
I am seeking auto insurance for the dual-fuel CNG-gasoline used auto I recently purchased from the federal government through auction. My auto insurance company, 21st Century formerly AIG, says my VIN number is not listed. When I told them about the type of auto I purchased, 21st Century said they could not insure a modified auto, even though this CNG dual-fuel auto appears to have been right from the Chevrolet factory, because they would not know how to value a "modified" vehicle if it damaged. When I contacted my mother's auto insurance company, Amica, they searched three data based for the CNG dual-fuel VIN and could not find it and therefore could not insure it. Without auto insurance, I can not legally drive this vehicle and can not consume CNG as a transportation fuel.
Do you or any one in the PickenPlan organization have any direct leads to assist me in locating an insurance company that can insure this dual-fuel CNG-gasoline used auto?
Sincerely,
Robert A Evangelista
