- I am the co-owner of The Solar Forum, LLC - and small business dedicated to raising awareness of practical Solar and Renewable Energy solutions. We operate a website supporting community collaboration around Solar Energy: http://TheSolarForum.com - a great place to learn and share information about Solar Energy through Community, News, Events, and NPR Solar Podcasts.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- We are looking for earnest collaborators to contribute their dialogue to The Solar Forum. We are constantly looking for new, quality websites to link with. Contact us if you would be interested in contributing an article, blogging, or getting involved in other ways.
Portable power from the sun for your iPod, cell phone, or laptop has obvious practical benefits in a fast-paced technological culture. Purchasing our excellent Solar products also serves the cause in two key ways: it supports the development of our website hub and models leading edge Solar technology to your peers within the community. Not everyone is ready for a full residential Solar installation, but many can afford smaller Solar solutions for portable electronics - and thereby still support awareness of Solar and Renewable Energy and effectively invest in further research and development of this profound technology.

Michael Shawn Kendall said… - Hi David, Here is a tool for all of us to get RE projects started through a recommendation for a new program of US Treasury "Energy Independence Savings Bonds". Savings bonds are normally purchased in $25 increments. This gives a way for just about any American to tighten their belts just a bit by skipping a meal at McDonalds or Pizza Hut and buying a renewable energy, RE, savings bond to support a project and save money at the same time for themselves. The plan is to have a minimum of categories for S-Solar, W-Wind, C-COOP. A purchaser would get on the US Treasury web site and purchase one that is for a project that he/she would like to support via credit card or PAYPAL. A different tab would allow tracking of the projects and transparency in accounting as President Obama has promised we will have in his administration. I've faxed and emailed my representative in Congress already and have a copy of a FAX sent to Nancy Pelosi on my Pickens blog along with more details. On my web page is a link for a new group that was started today called “Energy Independence US Treasury Savings Bonds” Please do not hesitate joining the “my friends” on my PickensPlan web page as well if you like this Energy Independence plan.
