Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I just have an interest in making this country energy independent. I've been studying up on the issue these past couple of years when it comes to energy and I know we can get out of the mess we are in by sticking together and having the right plan to do it with.
What excites you about this campaign?
Its all about Wind, solar, natural gas, oil, coal and all of the above in energy. I am excited to see an Oil Man excited about wind, solar and natural gas to get the United States off of foreign oil.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to have my voice heard in our Nations Capital, so I want to help to organize a chapter of your great idea here in the Los Angeles area to get the word out that there are things other than foreign oil to help get us out the mess we are finding ourselves in.

The Plan

I'm not so worried about the Pickens Plan anymore as I am the fate of our Nation. With all the spending going on, this is not sustainable and we are (In my opinion) going down the wrong road and the debt is piling up and up and up. Our children and Grandchildren are still going to pay for all of this.

T. Boone has a great plan, don't get me wrong. I hope that we can move towards his goal but for right now we need to stop the spending and rethink this whole damn thing. The President is out of hi… Continue

Grassroots Orginization for Energy Independence

Well, I have been thinking about this group...er...website PickensPlan.com for a while now. Setting up house parties is great and all but what really is needed is some real leadership here. For a while now T. Boone seemed like that guy, but no more...since he decided to stop his plans cold because the prices went down again. Well what we need is a leader who will not back down from all the corrupt practices that is in the energy industry...okay maybe not corrupt but GREEDY may be a better word f… Continue

I knew it was too good to be true

I'm super pissed right now at T. Boone for bailing out on us. He is not going to go through his wind energy project because natural gas prices are coming down. What kind of bull is he pulling on us? You see my friends what is going on here is WE are NEVER going to get off of Foreign sources of oil. We will always be hooked on foreign oil, its like a drug and were hooked. He is a disappointment to me...

But my friends I say we go forward with our plans of energy independence. Lets all ban togeth… Continue

Hello! My name is Andrew Lewis. I'm an official Online Organizing Director for Picken's Plan notifying you of a call to action.

We are gearing up house parties in communities all over the United States to spread the word about Picken's Plan and get communities plugged in to real renewable energy reform.

Since your the creator of this group I was curious if you may know some people making plays in your group who would be interested in hosting a house party. The more house parties the better!

Thank you!

Andrew

What I like about your list is that it is comprehensive.

We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress, Pres. Candidate Sen. John McCain and Pres. Candidate Sen. Barack Obama to act immediately to invest in clean wind and solar power by authorizing the Pickensplan to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries.

First I would really like to say that this website "Pickenplan.com" is a valuable resouce for those of us that want to be independant of foreign sources of oil. Going from Oil to Natural gas to fuel our cars is a great idea. To bad not many automakers make a Natural gas powered car, Honda makes a pretty good one, but thats about it, as far as I know of.

We the People have to ban together to get anything done in this country. I've written to our congressmen/women and all they say is alternate energy sources are the way to go. I do not agree with them. What we need is an all of the above approach to the energy problem we now face.

1. More public Transportation
2. More Drilling for oil/gas
3. New refineries
4. Nuclear Power
5. Clean coal power plants
6. Coal to oil plants
7. Wind, water and solar power
8. Flex fuel vehicles
9. Natural gas vehicles
10. Hybrid vehicles
11. Electric vehicles
12. Hydrogen vehicles
13. CAFE standards of 50 MPG by 2025 and not 35 MPG
14. Mandate the use of Solar in all new home construction
15. Mandate use of Genetically modified corn/sugar beats for ethonal production and not use food stocks of corn for ethonal.

These are just a few of the things I beleive we need to do in order for us The United States of America to become energy independant. I'm missing stuff I know but its a start.
