Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

No experience other than teaching environmental science at the high school level. I have always had an interest in renewable forms of energy and our semester ended with the students constructing solar ovens and using the sun's energy to cook a meal on the football field, then sharing with and educating the other students about solar energy. My husband and I have recently begun making changes to our lifestyle to conserve energy, driving more conservatively, driving a Prius Hybrid and are checking into installing solar panels and/or wind turbines. We actually are holding off because we understand a solar "film" is being developed.

What excites you about this campaign?

I am happy someone with the stature and influence like Boone Pickens has taken the lead in preparing a plan and organizing grass roots groups to rid us of our dependency on fossil fuels. It seems a no-brainer to me to utilize renewable sources of power such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal. I believe it is critical we make changes immediately.

What do you want to do to help?

I'm not sure, whatever is needed to make this plan a reality.

I am not completely finished reading all the articles yet. I am interested though. Did Dave and Stuart tell you they are going to build a hydrogen fuel cell to convert our cars? Wish them luck. It's worth a shot, given that it will save us 30 bucks every time we fill up!
