- Little to be honest. I currently work in the oil industry and I live in an area where there is some wind generator activity.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I think wind generation is an elegant if partial solution to a huge problem. Anyone can see that we, as a country, must find a source of eneregy other than oil. I am completely in agreement with Mr. Pickens that we must produce our own oil and gas as a bridge so that we have time to develop the next technologies such as the batteries and super capacitors that will be required to make electric cars feasible
- What do you want to do to help?
- I love this idea and want to support it but I don't know what I can do. I would be open to any request. If I can do it, I will.

This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

The larger our membership the more likely we will be successful in getting Congress to provide effective incentives for alternative and renewable energies and in insuring that our future president will treat energy independence as a matter of the greatest urgency, applying the same kind of leadership as JFK exercised when he led us with his stirring challenge to put a man on the moon in 10 years.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.
