What excites you about this campaign?

The fact that our fellow "Okie" T. Booone Pickens is involved and willing to spend millions of his own money to see us get off of foriegn oil make me proud of Boone and very excited about what he wants to do.

What do you want to do to help?

I don't know what I could do as I am somewhat handicapped. I am on oxygen (COPD)/Enphysema and do not get out of the house much at all.

I had approximately 400 watts worth of portable solar panels that ran the 100 watt radio and ran the 600 watt solid state amplifier from electricity mains. I had a NiMH battery pack with a small lead acid that ran the radio. I had an interesting response from one of the people that mentioned only being able to sell special purpose war bonds with an act of the president. I know they were selling CREB's (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds) but they did not fit the purpose that small savings bonds for Energy would fit. I had another comment on the play for interest but I think that if they sold enough bonds to fund a project from the initial purchase price vice the final value and gave tax breaks for the RE, the profit for RE sold would pay for the interest to the bond purchasers. I just don't see why it cannot be done. I'm sure the Treasury Department would be squirming with negative answers of why it can't be done if they were approached. I believe that if a fax or web based 500 word email (information for both is at the whitehouse web page) made it to the President and Vice President he may just direct his treasury secretary to make it happen as well as contact the right people in the house and senate needed if it must be a bill (I'm guessing it would have to be). I need enough people to send faxes to get it noticed. If you have any people that you think would be interested enough to take action, at your discretion, please contact them as well as anybody in Washington DC who could get the word to the right people. President Obama is going to have a real hard time getting the funding to meet his goal of energy independence in 10 years from the middle east without money to make it happen. I saw on TV that out of 16.5 billion asked for green only 16% or roughly 3 billion was appropriated. 3 billion is not going to come close to meeting this goal.

It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
