- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Formerly a Nuc Machinist Mate in the US Navy. I wish I had solar panels and/or a wind turbine but their current costs prevent me from doing so. Heck, I'm still waiting for an E85 station here in Salem, Oregon's capital city. Eugene (1 hour south) or Portland (1 hour north) have E85 stations.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It is obvious to me that our elected officials can not make the necessary changes, either by law or policy, for the United States to become energy independent. I believe that by using Brazil as a model for cellulosic ethanol and E85, the private sector can accomplish what our elected leaders can not do. I don't understand why we aren't spending more money on cellulosic ethanol research.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I currently promote recycling, and will continue to do my part to conserve energy. I applaud Mr. Picken's work and support him whole heartedly.
