IT IS LEGAL TO PAY A FINDERS FEE FOR COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL JOBS...KNOW OF ANY?
I have been working on establishing a California Statewide conservation company for the
purpose of doing audits for homeowners and businesses. I am happy to report, I have
found a tool that will help us to identify potential conservation, weatherization and solar
customers, and we are working out the details.
My next goal was to find a funding source. I was searching for a leasing company that
was interested in forming an alliance for the purpose of financing renewable energy
projects in California. I found one, and a great associate with solid leasing background
not only for renewables in California, but the entire planet, and they have funded jobs up
to $35 million, and will fund almost any kind of real equipment or projects including installs.
Best of all, the leasing investors, unlike some of the California solar companies, out there,
do not want the rebates or the tax credits. In the eighties I was using leasing for solar and
those investors, like some now, actually took the tax credits to help to derfer their own
profits on the leases.
If you think about it though, leasing to a customer, taking their tax credits and rebates, re-
taining the ownership of the solar equipment for your own purposes, and getting the
customer to sign a 20 year lease is nothing more than setting your company up as the
next utility. You company just became SG&E Solar, Gas & Electric. You figured out a way
to put a meter on the sun. Great job!
More on the benefits of a renewable lease soon....
