- I grew up in and around the space program, NASA, and especially the Saturn Moon program. NASA had to create or at least consider various alternative energy sources, e.g., fuel cells. I have always wondered why these alternative couldn't be commercialized.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- What excites me is that unlike the present Congressional Leadership Mr. Pickens has decided to do something and not just talk about it. Also, from long experience with government I believe only the private sector can solve our energy crisis.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Not sure as yet, recovery from back surgery

The next step in energy independence
I am no longer sure how any of this helps at all. While I have great respect for Mr. Pickens and leadership on the entire energy issue, I seldom just fall in line because I have been told or ask to do so. I need much more information and details which I have asked for but not received either directly by briefly answering my e-mails or indirectly through a better public description of how the PickensPlan would all fall into place.

Understanding the Challenges
Mr. Pickens must be given credit for being willing to lead when our elected officials, especially the Congressional Leadership refuses to do so. Congressional leadership refuses to understand that the energy independence is the most significant strategic and economic problem facing the country since the 1930s. Without energy independence we will be able to afford less and less of what we do whether it is protecting the environment, driving the economic machine that is the USA or fighting the war… Continue

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. We need your help.
There is a perfect storm of events happening right now that create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.
Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.
Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
