- I have been a strong proponent of it and I have read every article or book I came across
Being French I have seen several projects from farm produced methane to wind farms, tide and wave energy ( Portugal ), solar passive and photovoltaics as well as visited the first solar steam generation center in the French Pyrenees
I have also seen many vehicles in Southern France in the sixties with natural gas bottles on the roof or in the trunk .
I am interested in compressors / expanders for compressed air storage for electric power generation at peak time
I am interested in steam generated electricity at the home level using solar collectors
I am also interested in flywhells as a way of storing electricity
I believe in energy conservation and think that high energy costs is the best way to achieve energy conservation while raising revenue to be reinvested in infrastucture and alternative energy production. Europe has done it and offers the best transportation infrastructure anywhere
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It is an important part of the energy resources mix
It is a creative and sensible approach and it will be a way to diversify our resources while creating high value jobs at a critical time
- What do you want to do to help?
- Host reunions, I have space available in my restaurant
I can speak to groups share my knowlwedge and experiences

General John Osborn here. I am your District FL-11 Leader for Pickens Plan. We need YOU more than ever. Our organization has evolved and your role has become very clear. Come to the Pickens Plan website and add yourself to my friend list and also the District Group. Make firm plans to attend our monthly meetings, you will see the Pickens Plan has had new life breathed into it. Bring a friend, we have plenty of seating. We are having a guest speaker Thursday September 10th at 7:30 PM…see Pickens Plan website for maps and additional information. (listed on both the District and Events tabs)
Under my leadership you can have a tangible role in the operation of the district. You will be meeting “Mark Sharpe” of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners at the September meeting. I assure you this will be interesting and informative.

We would love to meet at your restaurant. Have you held any Pickens Plan meetings there before? Send me some information on its location, telephone number, type of food you serve (some of our members may come early). A snap shot or picture of the meeeting area would be really helpful too. Hours of operation or best time for you.

We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
For those of you that have already jumped in and have made contact with your local leader- thanks.
Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularily. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.

Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority.
[Click here], to enter your zip code and be paired up with members in your area. If you want to be a leader for your area, you can also sign up on that page. If you would rather wait on a leader role, that’s ok we need helpers. An organization cannot be all chiefs.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you might have already done.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the District page.
- Visit the My Energy page and get involved.
- Find and connect with others using the City Search.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
