Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have an e85 vehicle and love that I'm limiting fossil fuel consumption, my carbon output, creating American jobs and saving $20 everytime I fill up.
I'm designing a new home and have been researching geothermal heating and cooling, spray foam insulations, structured insulaing panels.
What's frustrating are the regulations (convenants for example) and lack of state or federal legislation promoting alternative incentives. (for example, net metering.)
What excites you about this campaign?
Getting off our dependancy on foriegn oil. Getting out of the tenderbox of the middle east. Educating the community. Saving our hard earned money and investing it in our communities.
What do you want to do to help?
Organize and get momentum. Make local changes. Meet our senators and congress representatives as a group. Be active on various forums.

Pikenspedia

I'm working to get a Pikenspedia started on this side.

This would be a reference that would help others figure out some of the lingo and terms floating around. Perhaps it could also service as a place to organize, summarize or archive what is discussed on the forums and discussion areas.

For example, since I've joined, I've learned what the following stand for:
CNG,… Continue

That is a good idea Eric. Watch for more news on Mariah and the VBine Turbine coming out soon. We expect a big Maui kick off around May1st.

hi Eric, Wind Energy is now a reality for individual homes, and at the work place. I was born and raised in Nebraska and Although my home has been in Hawaii for the past twenty years, we will now be based in Nebraska, in Omaha, and Ogallala. Please look over our site and watch the video of the VBine Turbine. Please let me know if you care for more information. Thanks and Aloha! Bill Mollrmg mrbillmaui@yahoo.com 402 884-2217

Thanks Eric,
I plan to visit the 'Energy Farm' up in Lyons, and you are correct, it is on the way to my land in the hills east of Homer, NE.

I met Jeff Hurt recently, are you near midtown?

Lars.

That's better! Someone told me that if you regularly use E85 you should get about the same MPGs. That's a surprising difference in price in CO. Unfortunately the spread in WI isn't too great. I just bought my "transition" car last week--a new Pontiac Vibe. I sold my old Ford Crown Victoria. It doesn't run on E85. My friend whom I bought if from said a lot of smaller cars aren't engineered to run on E85. I am also #1 on the waiting list here for the GM Volt. I don't know yet if I want to be the first to buy--but I'm nonetheless interested. My son, Matthew, said Honda is working on a car that would run on CNG. Take care.

Hi, Eric. Too bad you don't have e85 in the heart of ethanol-land. We have several pumps in Appleton, WI--although none of my cars can run on the stuff. We even have a couple of stand-alone stations, without convenience store, where people can pump that, as well as conventional blends.

I'm interested in the GM Volt. All electric. Wind, solar and most likely nuclear will be a significant source for me to recharge my batteries every night. For info on the Volt, there is a good web site at www.gm-volt.com
