Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

I have built a small solar array to power my low voltage landscape lighting. I would like to increase the amount of energy I draw from solar but unfortunately I do not live in a great area for sun hours most of the year so the RoI justification is making it hard for me to swallow the high cost of thee appropriate size array for my house. Instead, I am looking into Geo Thermal for heating, cooling, hot water, humidity control and air filtration. It won't be cheap but RoI is achieved much faster with geothermal here in New England and not buying oil for heat will be a victory!

What excites you about this campaign?

Renewable energy is a topic of major importance in three areas. 1) National Security 2) The Economy 3) The Environment

I don't think many people really get the correlation between RE and security and the economy. This campaign will help raise awareness and help mainstream RE technologies while achieving economy of scale for an industry that can renew the American economy and help to keep us safe.

What do you want to do to help?

I have been interested in making a career move to the RE industry for the reasons discussed above. I would be willing to do whatever I can to assist in this campaign - for the cause and for my own career. I have strong business , presentation , networking, sales and technology skills. I have performed with great success in multiple management roles. I want to lead this revolution in my area!

$700 BILLION PER YEAR

The larger our membership the more likely we will be successful in getting Congress to provide effective incentives for alternative and renewable energies and in insuring that our future president will treat energy independence as a matter of the greatest urgency, applying the same kind of leadership as JFK exercised when he led us with his stirring challenge to put a man on the moon in 10 years.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.

YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!
