frank - I just happened on your reply to AL GORE ! YR... I appreciate your voice regarding nonpartisan - if partisan showmanship continues much longer... Anyway I'm requesting you as a friend & I leave this article in case you haven't read it.
“…Until now, (8-5-08) solar power has been a daytime-only energy source, because storing extra solar energy for later use is prohibitively expensive and grossly inefficient. With today's announcement, MIT researchers have hit upon a simple, inexpensive, highly efficient process for storing solar energy…”
I'm for change also but I believe if enough people can get behind Picken's Plan, we will see that change take place. So, I guess, I see things rolling along as, People raising their voices for change, politicians take notice, Change takes place.
But first, we need the people to get together behind one plan.
Jon (answering question below)...
The size of the House was set to 435 as a result of the 1910 Census. In 1920 congress failed to re-apportion the House (in violation of the constitution). In 1929 they decided to make that number permanent. See: Why 435?
Hey Frank, On your 30,000 post - are you sure that was locked-in during the year 1929? This sounds a LOT like an FDR move (worst president ever), which would put it after 1933.
I'd be interested to know if 1929 was the last time reps were added OR if it was the year the cap was put in place.
