- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- None except what I’ve read about. Like most Americans, my hands-on experience with energy (electricity, oil and gas products) has been dictated by the present system. But I do know this: I don’t want to hook my bicycle up to a generator and pedal hard enough to make my morning coffee!
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Obviously the present lack of action among most of our elected leaders exposes us to an unprecedented drain of wealth out of our economy, plus it creates a real threat to national security. The Pickens Plan is grassroots and, by now, the general population should be ready to initiate/respond to its own movement. This plan could be the catalyst.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Good question! I know I want to join the Pickens army—even as a foot soldier. What can I do to help?
I am retirement age (but not yet retired—still working and still energetic). Over the years I have worked as news reporter (legislative/state government area), business writer and white paper author (advocacy statements), speech writer, chief executive officer for business trade associations, business magazine editor. Once I served as chief staff person for a multi-state legislative campaign yielding successful enactments in 44 states.
I do a little commercial work with InDesign and Photoshop. I am experienced in meeting/conference planning, promotion and execution. My job responsibilities also have involved membership recruitment for associations.
