Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have read about it, I used some form of it back in the 1970's during the first attempt at using ethanol but otherwise I am only a beginner.
What excites you about this campaign?
I have said and I say today that each of us can be, if we are truly serious, independent of Oil Companies. I once had a dream of owning 100 acres and putting up wind towers, harnessing a stream that runs through the property, and growing my own food to consume and to sell. This plan seems to get to the heart of what we all need to be doing - conserving, changing, and demanding - to institute a change in our way of life that frees us from domination by outside forces.
Years ago a Civics professor told us that this country would one day fall - not because of what we saw happen on 9/11 - because of "5th column movement" from within our own country. It is happening in that we are dependent upon monies borrowed overseas. In fact if China alone were to demand payment I believe we would be if we are not already owned by the Chinese.
We live in a global economy but the economy is in sad shape. I believe this plan can make a difference and I am committed to it.
What do you want to do to help?
I will spread the news, talk the plan, and encourage those who are my congressional delegates to vote for change rather than the same-old same-old. I do not believe it is a republican or a democrat that we are arguing about in our next administration - rather it is a gathering of forces to institute true change.

Hello Gary, These new rooftop mount home wind turbine kits that I am building are great. The profile is pretty sleek and attractive. The system is actually a home appliance and doesn't really stand out much more than an antennae, chimney, or satellite dish. This makes a nice clean way for homeowners to get into the clean energy movement. The systems are inexpensive, easy to install and scaleable.
These systems have wind/solar built right in. The wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, we designed a system that is attractively priced, that gives an even flow of energy year round. Wind power scales down in size to be perfectly feasible for a homeowner sized system to provide power for their home. Many customers have found it easy to become wind turbine customer/dealers. They are able to do this with no further investment and they see how easy people are to get interested.
I have used them to save money on my electricity costs and Gary, you could too. The systems pay for themselves in 5 to 10 years depending on your local wind resources, and they last for 25 or 30 years before needing a rebuild. Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. 2 is OK and anything over 2 is very good. Let's double check your wind resources are good.

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.
EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES -
This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! We are blessed that the creators of this site have given us the ability, with little effort, to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
You CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS!
