Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I bought a solar panel (45 watt) kit from Harbor Freight Tools and added a hi-tech 12v battery backup, then added a 16" attic exhaust fan to lower my heat/electric bills. I also ordered an electric bike kit to convert my Mt bike to a 25MPH, 35 miles on a full charge second mode of transportation. I will charge the bike batteries w/solar as well. Again no drain on grid. I have lowered my annual electric bill 3 years in a row...even though the cost/Kw is going up.
What excites you about this campaign?
T Boone is absolutely right...i't's going to take an ARMY of people to make this work. I live in one of the the best states for solar. I want the govt to give tax incentives so I can afford a tie-in-grid system on my 1,000 sqft home. I've been a trainer all my life and I'd love to train people how to go green.
What do you want to do to help?
I can help train people. I have audio/video equipment. home parties etc

Hey group... Please let me know about future meetings as well.. I am not well versed yet, but like Pam I am in this for the long haul and would be another body to attend.
Thanks, sorry I didn't get the word until 5:30 when I opened my email.
Sounds very interesting, did they say anything about the Pickens plan anywhere in the meeting?

Arizona Congressional District 6 Virtual March Kickoff Meeting
This Saturday, Mar 28th, 4:00 PM, Discovery Park in Gilbert, Diggers Cove Ramada
Map- http://www.ci.gilbert.az.us/eservices/parks/pdf/maps/discovery0309b.pdf
There are a lot of things available in this park if you want to let the kids play during, before or after the meeting. Its right off of the loop 202, East Side, San Tan Parkway on the North side and Pecos Rd on the South side.
The Diggers Cove Ramada is the closest ramada to where Greenfield and San Tan Parkway intersect. There are 2 picnic tables and shade, bringing a folding chair would probably be more comfortable. There are facilities in the park!
We have oval Pickens Plan stickers for you this time, and maybe some more door prizes.
Friend me and join the AZ 06 district group when you get a chance!
Hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Dave

Lobbyists paying $25K go to GOP retreat
Lobbyists are paying $25,000 to join U.S. Republican House members at a retreat where they will be able to talk about business interests, lawmakers say. "It's not like they're sitting there plugging their corporate issues -- but as with anything, their clients' interests inevitably come up," an unidentified official who has attended the retreats told a Washington political newspaper. The Congressional Institute conducts research and hosts seminars on topics including healthcare, taxes, energy and the environment for Republican lawmakers. It is run by lobbyists who pay $25,000 to be on the institute's board and receives corporate contributions. No one attending the conference is breaking any House rules because House rules don't address travel put together by a non-profit organization with lobbyists as board members. Democrats and Republicans have taunted each other for years about retreat funding. Republicans say Democrats use taxpayer money to pick up part of the tab and Democrats slam Republicans for letting the Congressional Institute pay for costs and then have lobbyists at a retreat dinner. A GOP conference spokesman said the ethics panel has approved the retreat, which will be open to reporters. 3.3 billion was spent on lobbyists in 2008. This is why we have serious problems in Washington. The ethics are totally out of line with both the republicans and the democrats. Our constitution has clearly been violated in so many ways. Where is the accountability and transparency?
The words Energy Efficient should be on everything we purchase and use to live on this earth. Getting the word out is difficult usually due to the fragmentation of communication in our country. Many are not informed with a complete explanation of what is a stake and why. It is my hope that clear communication both vertical and horizontal will be utilized to bring us together for a direct cause easy to follow and easy to become part of for everyone.
The Senate may vote on the Stimulus Bill as early as tomorrow,
let’s keep the pressure on our Senators to support the Pickens Plan
elements in the Stimulus Bill and encourage more for natural gas vehicles!
