My name is John Orben.

I will be working with the Pickens Plan as the Ohio District 1 Leader.The first congressional district spans much of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and Southwest Butler County. Our congressman will be Steve Driehaus, serving in the 111th Congress of the United States of America, he will be replacing Steve Chabot in the office.

My goal will be to increase membership in our District, promote the Pickens Plan, and listen to your ideas about the plan. I will communicate with local government officials and pass along information about the progress of our work through the Group Page at : http://push.pickensplan.com/group/DistrictGroupOH01

I would like to ask for your help, on whatever level you are comfortable with, in promoting the Pickens Plan within our district. The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.

It has been a while since we kept in touch last!

We are now over 1.2 million suporters. We will need many more if we are to beat back the damn lobbyists and special interests. Can you help with the pledges? Every American needs to sign on. With pledges we can fan out and reach so many. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. I was able to get 300 signed in the first 4 days - everyone wants to to get off of foreign oil. We may never have a golden opportunity like this again!

With a new baby at home, I don't think my wife would appreciate me hosting a debate party. To make it worse she doesn't even like politics! Take care and good luck finding an actual party.

Great idea on redesigning the sheet. I will do the same, and spread the word. When I first started collecting signatures I did it on one long sheet. People feel more comfortable signing something that others have committed to also!

How many do you have now? Can't wait to invite you into the 100CLUB!

It was in something you relayed, written by Nicolas Van Praet with the Financial Post on Sept. 22, which I''ve found is a Canadian Publication. Maybe the word is a Canadian thing.
I hope to be able to join the 100Club soon, but here in Cincinnati we are recovering from 80MPH winds. My home was without all utilities for a week and my office had no phone nor FAX connection for 4 days. The one thing I learned from the experience is that we need to DIVERSIFY and wind, plus solar, plus natural gas is all part of the solution. Mr. Pickens is one very smart man.

I have a background in architecture and designed my house with passive solar energy. Since 1965, I've been an organic gardener and grow much of my own food which is a form of energy conservation. For the last 2 years I've attended the green festivals in Chicago and D.C..

What excites you about this campaign?

Basic facts that I agree with completely and actions that are long overdue.

What do you want to do to help?

I can possibly attend public meetings to show my support.
