Dear Sr. Bastos,
I am so grateful to have found someone who is knowlegable about the Brazillian energy experience . If Brazil could convert and become independant quickly there is no reason for US not to. No long period for developing new technology,
just a matter of getting rid of import taxes on Brazil or taking a good look at how they did it !! Dear God in Heaven , why are we not doing that ?!?
Do you like contacting your public officals? Do you like making making a difference?
If both questions have a "Yes" for an answer then your our perfect member!
The action committee is very simmilar to www.action.pickensplan.com however our job is to do that in a much larger scale! An action committee member will have responsibilities that include: scheduling a conference with their senators/congressman, talking to major companies on switching to natural gas vehicles, and even talking to families about becoming 'green' and signing the petition.
If everything above sounds appealing to you, why wait? Join the Action Committee now!
Bastos, I read your letter in our Hispanic group and thought it was excelent. I also read about your experience in Brazil. I want to invite you to join our group called Inexpensive clean energy. In it I posted such links like legislative directory, find your reps voting history, how much money dose your rep get from big oil in campaign contributions, Contact congress, cngprices, gas tax in your state, energy efficiency grants and loans, and so much more.
I am looking for knowledgable people to contribute to the group and discussions and people to take advantage of all the info and links posted there. Please check it out joiand tell a friend.
Thank you.

Getulio,
I sure do like to hear that. American by choice. I am very impressed with Brazilian energy policies, what I am having a hard time with is transfering those policies to American business.
Might you have any useful information on starting a CNG fueling station?
A message from Jake to all members of Pickens South Florida on PickensPlan!
None of the site will tell me how to convert my car to natural gas. some don't
work or they say only for fleet . what do I do?\]
Good question, Jake. I have found the same information you have.
The links folks have provided to access conversion information only leads to more and more links, with no real end point to information. If conversion exists for autos to date, I think many would be interested in finding the information.
I have found simply nothing on cost of conversion on line
If you know of specific conversions available, and a website is available please post it here. If the link you provide only resolves with more search results, please do not leave it here.
Personally, when links results in more search results of more search results, to me it indicates that the actual information is not widely available, and that the idea is more popular than the than the limited available information.
New cars and trucks with OEM CNG factory installations are popping up with end results, but I have not experienced any end results for CNG conversions, only more search results.
am helping Ken get the word out to the folks on his list.
Have you seen T. boones AUTO MATIC system to send
e-mail to your rep. You type in a few key strokes and
it auto adresses the e-mail to all your reps and the GOV.
of your state based on zip code. Has a sugested draft of a letter to send. NEVER EASYER. Spread the word to click on the ACTION CENTER at the main web site.
Thank you for your input. I know Natural Gas is the central issue and it is not renewable. NG is however the best short term solution for converting existing vehicles, no doubt about that, but what about talking about renewables that can become central to FL's economy, like the ones I mentioned earlier? Why should it stop at NG? I think FL is entitled to using every technology at it's disposal to create a clean energy future, not just NG. Wave Energy has been said by USA TODAY to be one of the most concentrated forms of energy available! We need to utilize this resource along with Solar and Biofuels, etc. Florida's future with renewables looks bright!
Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I'm Brazilian by birth. American by choice.
I travel constantly to Brazil and drive cars that allow me to choose to use Gasoline, Alchool (Ethanol) or Natural Gas (in the same car). To change from one to the other all I have to do is flip a switch, while driving.
And these are American brand cars, like Ford and GM, made in Brazil.
In Brazilian Currency, although Natural Gas makes the car weaker on passing other cars and on uphill drives (about 8% to 12% less power than gasoline), it drives perfectly well on regular roads. If I'm driving on Natural Gas and I decide to pass another car all I have to do is switch to Gasoline (or Ethanol), pass the car and then switch it back to natural gas. The same on hills, etc...
But the economy is 65% over Gasoline prices (in Brazil) and 53% over Ethanol prices (in Brazil). Multiply these by 300 mllion americans and see the potential benefits to our economy.
These are not chicken feed, as some people might say.
What excites you about this campaign?
First of all because we are losing our standard of living while countries that hate us, like the Arabs, which were on the stone age just 50 years ago, are becoming filthy rich at our expense (by our own making) and the Chinese are growing richer by the day (by our own buyng of their cheap labor), while we are exporting all of our jobs to other foreign nations that would love to see our economy fail.
What do you want to do to help?
I know a lot about the Brazilian Ethanol and Natural Gas program which made them 100% foreign oil independent in 2007.
I can research and translate any data necessary to achieve in America the same goals they achieved there with a lot less resources and brain power than we have.
