Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I earned a bachelor's in Physics right at the time when the Wallstreet tech bubble burst and have had a hard time finding work in my field in my home area. I see local resources all around me that are not being utilized like they used to be during the textile industry (such as hydro power on creeks) and could be again. I am excited that the new england area is looking into hydro power from tides and solar power, and hope that this is a driving force in supporting the local economy.
What excites you about this campaign?
I like how the free exchange of ideas and the direction those ideas are influencing local politicians in my area to support these initiatives. They realize it can be a very long process, but can look past their own political lifetime for the benefit to their local area and I feel that you often don't see this in politics. This is a wake up call message that is impossible to ignore if you are forward thinking and it is becoming difficult to ignore otherwise.
What do you want to do to help?
I would like to know more about the alternate energy initiatives in my area and would like to know how I can help bring to light all that can be done to expand these initiatives in my home area. In the town of Bridgton ME we have no fewer than 12 former sites of mills right on the local brook, that used to fuel the local economy back when the textile industry ran this country. They did this without fossile fuels of any kind. I see that the foundations of these buildings are the only thing left in many of the locations to bring light to the power the environment brought to the community, and could again with the right motivation and initiative. I want to be a part of the movement to bring that initiative to light.

Hi Glenn!

Welcome to an exciting time at Pickens Plan! We have grown to almost 1.4 million suporters since June - just 5 months. There are now less than 75 days until Inauguration Day - we must put it into overdrive!

The Senate's "Gang of 20" and Thomas Friedman, celebrated columnist and author, have all stated that the only way to get the action we need on energy is to build this grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. (Read at DAILY PICKENS) We need to keep our eye on that goal!

Please get 10 signed pledges faxed in today. It is easy, Boone has done the hard work already. When I brought mine to the UPS Store to fax them, the new owner and his wife signed the pledge. They were huge supporters, but had not had time to go online and just do it. There are so many folks out there like them - we just need to spread the word AND take names.

Many hands make light work. Can you help? JUST 10!

1. Download the pledge/petition :

http://media.pickensplan.com/downloads/PP/pollingsignupsheet.pdf

2. get them signed

3. fax them in to the 888# at the bottom of the pledge, asap.

Gratefully
Kim

Welcome!
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement. .
We need to Push.PickensPlan.com – or “Push” as we like to call it.
Our future really does depend on us at this point in time!
If not now, WHEN? If not you, WHO?
Look up your regional leader. Also Click on (Group) Guides and materials.
If your able Check out cafepress.com for more advertizing material.
Again Welcome; Tom
I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

Well as they say (the large lady voiced the end). Neither candidate openly gave his support outright for our plan. Both new about it and to a degree felt the intense support behind it. It goes back to another old saying (be careful what you wish for, or on the political platform be careful how far you put your foot in the door.)
Keep in mind As Sara Lee tells us (you cannot please all the people all the time). As we know in politics, it’s merely a game of giving the mass majority a small taste in hopes they will buy the whole meal.

Look up group investors. See who owns mills, if possible work with town gov to transform into new office location and energy provider.

Hi Glenn,

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining the Pickens Plan. I just wanted to let you know that a real person out here appreciates you taking that first step.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to guide your path. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and when you are comfortable, letting others know about the website. The people here are interested in making the plan a success and those you invite should be able to see for themselves that this is the right place to be.

Here are further steps you might consider.

- Visit the My Energy page and get involved.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202)225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.

Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.

Welcome once again and thanks for signing up.

Clynton
