Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I supported alternative energy as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives. I was the only Republican endorsed by the Sierra Club in the 2000 election cycle. I am currently leading an alt power project as a trustee of First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, and I research and invest in alt power personally and professionally.
What excites you about this campaign?
I believe that Mr. Pickens has put together an objective and technically sound plan. Politically, my Republican Party and fellow conservatives have missed an opportunity to craft a policy like this which ties sound economics and technology with our political values of 1) economic development for rural America, 2) harmony with Christian ethics, and 3) improved U.S. national security.
For me, the central problem to be solved is alternative stored energy liquids (or high pressure gases) to gasoline. Mr. Pickens has chosen CNG, which I believe is a superior choice to hydrogen cracked from methane or water, gasoline from non-conventionals (heavy oil, tar sands, coal-to-liquids, or natural gas-to-liquids), or gasoline supplemental/alternative liquids such as ethanol or biodiesel.
What do you want to do to help?
I will organize in Colorado.

There are quite a few people that are not convinced that H2O2 tech works because they seem to live only by equation. My thinking was not clouded by this and I started my research several years ago. There are inherent short comings with the way we presently get around, but this will not change anytime in the near future. We must attempt to bridge the gap with an open mind. I have run several real time, on the road, tests and the results are consistant. There are some very interesting things I've learned in referernce to the automotive computer (that some say we can't live without)! I reside in southwest Colorado and would love to be a part of this change that is coming very quickly.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Glenn, I am very impressed with your credentials. All I do is comment on issues and write legislators and governors trying to be the thorn in their side that they will do anything (including "the right thing") just to get rid of me. Drop by my site and leave a comment if anything I say spurs one.

We want to invite you to join the Great Plains for Pickens Plan. Our region will be the center of wind energy production, jobs, and economic development. We hope you'll join our network.
We all rely totally on TRANSPORTATION -- the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We do not depend on oil, we depend on transportation -- we cannot avoid the need for transportation it is a true dependency that will never go away. Unfortunately transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking.
The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, however it is a stop gap solution because NG will peak in about 20 years. IMO, massive efficiency improvement is the only approach that is sustainable long term, and economically feasible. (IMO, Gore is focused on the wrong reasons -- but on doing the right thing -- transition from fossil fuels, quantum efficiency improvements, and electrification of transportation.)
ETT implementation will accelerate reaching the mutual goals of both sides of the political isle faster than any alternative fuel scheme. Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT)™ is patented transportation technology that can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh than electric cars or trains, it is cleaner, lower cost, safer, faster, and electric (so it can use Pickens (or Gore's) wind power or PV to it's highest and best use). Click my name for more info.
We all share a common goal. Check our our Pickens group at "Live Carbon Free" and see what we are promoting. Conservation is a way for us to bridge the gap to the future of alternative energy. Alternative energy of any kind is a few years away from implementing and we can make a huge impact by simple discipline in our lifestlyes. We welcome you to join us at Live Carbon Free and value your input. I am also a member of another organization working is this area. Check it out at www.usgreenhome.info.
Glen,
My land is zoned general residential. It has a county road through it and no tutles. I intend to not do anything else then up my land usage for the Solar Farm and my my calculations, 1kwh per acre makes this farm a 100 kwh times 24 hours, 2400 kwh per day, times 30 per month, 72000 kwh per month and 864,000 kwh per year. That is very close to a Mega Watt production and surrounding my land is all Federal BLM on three sides, lets multiply the BLM by three or four thoasand acres. 2.5 Gega Watts, that is alot of families needs.
Enjoyed your posts and think the movement will benefit form your first-hand knowledge of the political process as well as deonstrated knowledge o alternative energy technologies.
