- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Very little, but I know what makes sense, and wind powered energy makes sense. Natural gas to replace gasoline makes sense, and I am glad they have those cars elsewhere. Most of the lower middle class and worse off, especially those of us retired on social security, cannot afford new cars. I offered the idea of creating conversions for gasoline powered cars to natural gas, if such is possible. I am sure there are some inventors and engineers who could do such a thing. Who would finance the start-up? We need some real "fat cats" who could do such a thing, and make it viable (Gates? some of those with "golden parachutes"? They could develop conversion kits and sell them, and thus they could get their research/startup money back and then make a lot of profit. Hey, how about our good old Amercian car makers? Why are you waiting for Honda and Toyota? This is something we could buy "made in America, by Americans, for America".
I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, and am a licensed and certified clinician with 23 plus years of experience; As you might guess, we are paid less than first grade teachers with a Bachelors degree, and retire on social security alone. Not very bright, or practical, spending all that time helping others, because now, I need to help myself so I can be safe and secure in old age. This is the way to go, and we can do this. I don't care what political party you are, we can do this, America, so let's get together and do the big push and do this. We need all of us, all our creativity, our energy, and our commitment. We went to outer space (and by the way, is that fuel efficient? does it contribute to greenhouse gases and meltdown of the polar ice cap?) How about all that nuclear testing that went on in the 50's and 60's? Duck and cover? Your elementary school desk would prevent you from being killed by the atomic radiation and bomb? How naive and blind we have all been! But as Yamamoto put it, when you wake "the sleeping tiger", you have done yourself in! And America is waking up!

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state. You can find them to the right, in the Featured Memberssection. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership nor
2) influence public policy.
If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
