Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I do not really have any experience with alternative energy but I have read a lot about it and according to what I have study Alternative energy is typically defined as coming from sources that do not deplete natural resources or harm the environment. Wind power is a typical example. The term alternative is used to contrast with fossil fuels according to some sources. Renewable energy differs from Alternative energy in that it may have significant environmental impact, as is the case for most hydroelectric dams. So if America can implement this noble idea the we will not depend on foreign oil and go to war for it. thought its a noble idea and what to be part of it.
What excites you about this campaign?
Not depending on foreign oil
What do you want to do to help?
Anything

The Incomprehensible Alternative Energy Debate

Due to a steadily rising gas price in 2008 with the US national average price per gallon of regular unleaded gas above $4.00, there has been a steady movement towards developing higher fuel efficiency and more alternative energy vehicles for consumers. In response, many smaller companies have rapidly increased research and development into radically different ways of powering consumer vehicles. While Hybrid Vehicles (such as Toyota's Prius) and Electric Vehicles (such as the Tesla Roadster) are… Continue

Invitation to join the NW Renewable Energy Group
I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

Thanks for the add; I've seen a suggestion floated on doing a Wiki for some parts of the plan and a glossary for others; you make a good point with Alternative vs Renewable energy source and applications, but I'm not sure I follow the hierarchy or how only renewable have potential environmental impact ... so thank you for giving me yet one more thing to grind around in my brain! (your good/noble energy being one you don't go to war over is way cool; I hadn't thought about it being such a pure baseline!~)

Glad to help. We are all very busy people and can only give a small amount of time to this. Every effort helps all.

NEW MEMBERS: Thanks for joining...Please do one good deed today before you have a chance to forget or get busy with other things! Pickens can't singlehandedly solve the problem of the $700B outflow to pay for foreign oil, much of which money ends up in unfriendly hands. That is why he is asking each member to sign up 5 others members on the Pickens Plan. Surely you know at least five other people that would support a real plan to reduce our dependence on foreign oil NOW... please take this to heart; the survival of our leadership position in the world and our economic prosperity at home is at stake – please contact your friends, family, neighbors and our legislators today.

PS. If Pickens succeeds all forms of alternative energy will benefit from this movement. He has a workable, achievable plan. All viable AE solutions will get a huge boost if the Plan can reach 1M members in 2008.
United we can / Undecided we fail. Please add me as a friend!
