Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Over the last 4 years I've driven veterans across the US several times covering over 200,000 miles in biodiesel powered vehicles. For Hurricane Katrina, my volunteer partners and I powered hurricane relief camps and remote satellite internet systems with solar panels and provided transportation using biodiesel. With my new biodiesel still and used cooking oil from New Orleans' restaurants, I've made over 4000 gallons of biodiesel in the last 6 months (Jan 08 - June 08).

My mission is to educate veterans, restaurant owners and community groups about the benefits of bio diesel and alternative energy in support of disaster preparedness, response and rebuilding in New Orleans.
What excites you about this campaign?
I'm familiar with it enough to be excited. I glad he has worked toward addressing the energy crisis.
What do you want to do to help?
I can offer help by providing my perspective on issues of the environment, bio diesel, rebuilding green after disasters.

Veterans going green NOV 11!

I'm a veteran of the US Navy. On this Day I thought I would provide my reason for joining the military and why after serving I have become a advocate for alternative energy and bio fuels.

I joined to defend the country and the constitution. My service however was used to protect the oil coming out the Persian Gulf while Iran and Iraq were at war. I realized that if I stayed in the service I would eventually go to war over oil. So, I got out and began to find other ways of serving. I… Continue

The problems the new president faces or are they opportunities?

The 44th president of the United States of America will face a international financial crisis, nationwide housing crisis, rising energy costs, and continued defendants on petroleum based fuels. As it that wasn't bad enough, millions of returning veterans are looking for work. Many are finding none that require the skills they acquired while serving in the wars we are waging. Many are injured or traumatized by their service and all will deserve our support, respect and a chance to get a job that… Continue

Sheehan: US leaders abuse executive powers

Sat, 26 Jul 2008 19:32:27

By Afshin Rattansi, Press TV, Tehran

The following is Press TV's exclusive interview with Cindy Sheehan, a US congressional candidate widely seen around the world as an anti-war movement leader.

Press TV: When you began your campaign soon after the Iraq war and of course, after your son's death, you didn't really have the support of the American people, how do you think the American people's point of view about Iraq has been changed… Continue

Hi Gordon,
I've created "Musicians for a Better Future" as an attempt to organize musicians and performers in many cities to participate in simultaneours events to support the Pickens plan. If we can make this happen, it wouldn't be right if New Orleans wasn't hosting a Pickens plan concert. Many of America's best musicians are in New Orleans. From your page, I can see that you are a guy who gets things done, and has strong convictions that are translated into action. If you know and performers or promoters, organizers etc. that would help, I'd be much obliged. Help in any capacity would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Rev. Jake O'Connor

Gordon,
Thank you for your service. I am proud to get this chance to tell you I am an American who appreciates you. I hope we will be able to sustain an energy plan in the future - that will not put you and others at risk for fuel.

I support the Pickens Plan - not the OPEC PLAN.
