Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
After working in the East Texas and Permian Basin “Oil Patch” through the 1970’s, I earned a degree in Solar Energy Technologies from then Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI – Now Texas State Technical College TSTC) in Waco Texas in 1982. I worked for a large solar manufacturing company (Solar Kinetics Inc.-SKI) in Dallas, Texas for two years from 1982 through 1984, until government funding for alternate energy research was cut under President Reagan regime. SKI was one of the largest manufactures of line focus parabolic trough collector systems for industrial process heat (a very large energy use of energy in the US). We worked on several projects in conjunction with Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque, NM, including the heliostat power tower and Modular Industrial Solar Retrofit (MISR) project. SKI also installed a very large collector array system for Gould Inc in Chandler Arizona under the DOE in 1983. I know from experience that solar and wind power do work cleanly, efficiently and cost effectively.
What excites you about this campaign?
After over 26 years of quietly preaching from my soap box about alternate energy resources (solar, wind, biomass, gas, hydroelectric, geo-thermal) I am finally witnessing a change in attitude about energy independence in America. It’s a shame it took a hit to our wallets to bring about this change. I believe that if we invested as much money in Solar/Wind Power/Geo-Thermal resources as we did the “Star Wars” boondoggle in the 1980’s (another Regan Legacy) we could be free of the “Oil” strangle hold we are experiencing now.
What do you want to do to help?
Let me know what you need and I love to be a part of this campaign. I don't like either of the current candidates for president, so I would not be open to promoting one or the other.

Happy New Year Grant,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Grant, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
Please take a look at the executive summary on my page. We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
