- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Years ago when I first started to sell homes in my area solar was getting off the ground and the government gave you a tax credit for using this alternative energy source. Then the tax credits ended and because it was still so much more expensive that using oil or gas people stopped adding it to their homes. Now I see some homes starting to use Geo Thermal for heating and cooling but again it's still so expensive. We need a plan to bring down the costs and you can only do that with tax credits so more people ask for the products and that way you get additional innovation through mass production.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It's timely with gas being so expensive and the steps are clear cut and easy to understand. Anybody with 5 spare minuets can grasp the entire message. It's doable and we can get started on it right away.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Lets get PickensPlan.com signs for the front yards during this political season. It doesn't matter who your voting for it's every American's issue.

I got that sign through VistaPrint. I got some business cards and notes pads there also. You might check Staples do-it-yourself" printing also. They have yard signs. I do have cups, t-shirts, etc on CafePress. We have been promised "official material" since July, nothing yet.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state. You can find them to the right, in the Featured Memberssection. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership nor
2) influence public policy.
If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
