Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Just personal interest for many years now. No technical experience... yet. Into passive and active solar for 30 years now. Very into hybrid technology, fuel cells, and how to use my engineering background to participate in the green revolution.
What excites you about this campaign?
That something is finally getting done. It kind of sad that it takes a grassroots effort just to start what elected officals have been giving us lip service about for the past 30 years.
What do you want to do to help?
Help spread the word. Maybe occasional local meetings. Network with others about new developments and about where the green technology jobs are.

Greg

I was recently asked, would I switch candidate support based on their support for the Pickens Plan?

The answer to that question is no.

But let me explain: I am not a single issue voter, whether the issue is abortion, war, the economy or the environment, though some issues may sway me. But the point is, if we are really building an army, no politician can ignore the law of large numbers. In fact, we'll be holding the cards. Instead of them telling us what they are going to do, we'll be telling them what they are going to do. After all, it's our (tax) money, and they work for us. It's either ou… Continue

Hi Greg,

I don't know how many of you have been troubled by a certain Pickens Plan member, Windenergy7, a salesman who greets new members with a sales pitch usually before we, or an official Pickens Plan greeter can welcome them into the Pickens Plan Army

If you’ve encountered this “person” or have heard complaints of such ilk, please raise your complaints to all Regional Leaders as this “shyster” is playing havoc in my group and very few of the new people he greets first will join our group!

Thank You,
Richard Wickberg

Greg,

I see you're interested in becoming an organizer. That's great because we're looking for some leadership help in your part of Oregon! Please send me an email if you're able to help and I will share some details: micah.lauer@pickensplan.com

Thanks,

Thanks for adding me as a friend Tom! Since you are clearly pro-active in the need for more renewable energy resources, I'd love for you to take a look at this other new plan I’m involved with. It's a non-profit organization called We Can Power The World! I truly is an amazing foundation and their plan to power the entire world with renewable energy is actually do-able! So if you have an extra minute please take a moment a check out www.wecanpowertheworld.org
Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

I've already sent letters to all my legislators and congresspersons, as well as my pick for the president and vice president. Not expecting a reply. And of course, all of my friends.

So what is next? Who is going to put up the posters? Carry the message? I can do it here, but it's going to take more than that. We are just pawns in the game of life.

This is a labor of love, and it's a long time in coming. So count on me, in my little spot in the world. I can cover Beaverton, Hillsboro, and part of Portland, Oregon. Next I hope comes a trip from T. Boone Pickens. Because Oregon is so into this. He will rock this place, and I guarantee the biggest crowd he has ever seen.

Barack (if you support him or not) drew the biggest crowd of his campaign here. 75,000.

T. Boone I think could draw half a million.
This is Oregon, we invented the bottle bill. We are leaders on many environmental issues. So, if he has a plan, then we have people to support it. I can organize.

Greg,

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

FOR MORE INFORMATION
Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action! Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting": http://www.pickensplan.com/news/2008/08/04/video-of-the-topeka-town...

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch.

Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS .
