Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:: My experience is in the building business, I use geothermal heat pumps in my properties, as well as thermal windows and doors. I do not use fossil fuels for recreation. I surf and sail.

What excites you about this campaign?: This is an imperative. Fossil fuels must and will be phased out eventually. this is a good way to get there

What do you want to do to help?: Spread the word about this plan and about conservation. Conservation is one of the immediate things that will reduce fissil fuel use.

I assume it has been deleted, but I appreciate you taking the time to respond to some of my concerns. The problems with wind power are well documented. I have no problem with people making money in the market while at the same time moving america toward energy independence, but I don't see this plan doing that. Natural gas is a non renewable resource, and the US only has 3% of the worlds supply. We could not reasonably replace our vehicle fleet with a natural gas fleet without importing natural gas from abroad. As you saw in the information I linked, the largest natural gas resources in the world are in the Middle East. So outside of spending a great deal of money on making the change to natural gas, in the end we will be left with vehicles that still burn non renewable resources, and still require energy from abroad. Doesn't sound like energy independence to me. I see how pickens makes money with this plan. i see how his company "clean energy" stands to gain from a move to a natural gas vehicle fleet. But I still do not see how this plan is good for america. I have moved the discussion to my blog since my post no longer seems to appear on the site.
