Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Not so much alternative, but conservative. I have been all my life. My late father always said to "Cut off that light" ! We live in an urban area with a small yard, but we have a rather big pond to catch rain water. (Hope I don't have to use it to bath in.) We bought a motorcycle, bought energy efficient light bulbs, insulate our home, but these are preventative measures, not alternative. We cannot afford solar panels, even though we would love to. We live in Kansas City, Missouri, but cross over to Kansas regularly. We see wind turbins in Kansas.
What excites you about this campaign?
I heard Mr. Pickens for the first time this morning (7/8/08) while getting ready for work on Good Morning America. I don't care for GMA as I do not care for their political propaganda, but it comes on after the local weather.
When I heard Mr. Pickens' interview, I sensed he has a 'passion' about his work. I wanted to research his plan when I got home from work and was telling my spouse about his statistics.
Of an evening, I watch Lou Dobbs without fail. I was telling my spouse about what I heard this morning, then, WoW.....there was Mr. Pickens' commercial on CNN!
If I understand correctly, Mr. Pickens is a self-made billionaire from oil. My hope is that Mr. Pickens remembers the small people that helped him make his billions and now he is remembering them and hopefully, he LOVES this country.
My spouse and I believe our precious country is being destroyed by big business, K-street lobbyists and the elected officials they buy.
My spouse bought one of the first "personal" computers when the price tag was $5000.00, believing that Bill Gates was an icon and a hero.
Now we have seen and heard what Bill Gates thinks of the American people, who made him the mulit-billionaire he is, just to bring in cheap foreign labor and insulting the very people who have made him who he is. We are heart sick and wish we could boycott Mr. Gates, MicroSoft and their globalist partners.
Mr. Pickens sounded genuine and sincere. He seems to want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
For us Middle Americans, we have been taken to the bank on energy, false promises, false wars, lying officials, invading illegals all brought about by the elites who control the money, so they control decent people. We are going broke.
I'm excited because Mr. Pickens looks like a Patriot, talks like a Patriot, has prospered and wants to be part of the solution, rather than another elite who only wants to pad his bulging pocket at my family's expense.
I hope he is sincere...I hope he has integrity and based on his plan, that seems to be the case. That being said, we still need to drill and refine domestically in my humble opinion. Let's use all the resources we have, keep them HOME and take care of Americans for a change.
America should not be expected to take care of the world. In addition to wind and solar, we need to drill and drill NOW! We need to bring back a fraction of the refineries we had in the 1980's to drive our vehicles. It's not a luxury, it's a living for us. We have to haul tools and equipment to our work. The automotive industry is not about to have a hydrogen powered vehicle any time soon. They are in bed with OPEC.
The Goose that lays the Golden Egg (middle Americans) are becoming extinct and that is the plan. I'm not sure if Mr. Pickens and all his good intentions can turn the tide to bring in the NAU.
Thank you for reading my ranting. The American people are waking up and ready to support someone like Mr. Pickens, if he plans to help our country and her people. Honestly, we are gun shy of anyone who has a house with more than two bathrooms. Smile......
I work many hours in the funeral industry, and mow my own yard, clean my own house, cook my own food, but I will find "extra" time to knock doors, send emails, make calls or anything time permits if Mr. Pickens is sincere.

I will try to make the book signing and hope time will permit. I work in the funeral industry and schedules change moment by moment, as you can well imagine.
I have been talking about Mr. Pickens to anyone who will listen to me.
